guess its greek or something... since lambda is a greek letter (i think) and alpha, and beta, all of those are greek letters, right??

Try Physics, or Chemistry books. Like h e said, it's the symbol for lambda. Though the real symbol looks like Italic text, and its tall, not so bold. I'm not sure you'll be please with it. Oh, and there's not a cirlce around it, either.

The symbol is Lambda, the font used in the valve logo and the rest of the HL logo is Trebuchet MS

just go to "symbol" on MS word, and type "L" its not anywhere near exactley the same but, its the actuall symobl

Use Trebuchet MS and then just copy the A graphic from some website (makes shifty eyes towards the top of the page)

actually, i used to have the actual font just called "half-life" (i think it's still on my old computer... ? not sure though :/)
