You think Deus Ex's story was complex? Lol.

Maybe you should pick up a book once in a while.

I't sure was more complex compared to other games (FPS) that were out around that time.

You had choices, not many but you could save the pilot and Paul from dieing and you could chose between 3 different endings.

Maybe you should pick up a book once in a while

LOL, you think books are complex!

you know whats complex? the matrix is complex! deus ex just rocks!!! in a totally different way then HL, and thats why a lot of people here cant appreciate it apparently...

Do you people even read the thread before posting? You can't do because all you can do is come up with the same weak questions of statements like 'OMG YOu DiNDt LikE It BEcUAse YOu LiEk DidNT UNdERStaND IT'

The Matrix is not complex.

And Zerox, The books I read are complex.

And Zerox, The books I read are complex.

It all depends on what kind of book you read imo.

Interesting books are:

Theory of complex functions
Convex Analysis and Variational Problems
Methods of Information Geometry

among others.

Ok now did u see the deus ex 1 intro that was shit lol however the game turned out to be excelent. We dont like deus ex cos everyone else did u fool lol I barely know anyone who likes the game i just bought it and thought wow this game is amazing i must get the next one... hl world is very simple with one path, however deus ex had many optional missions, and every action can determine different things like saving paul making sandra leave the hotel.. and u can actually stealth unlike in hl where grunts can see through walls :P. You can do so many things pick up objects, lockpick doors, use augmentations, and god its so long! I didnt know there was a deus ex 2 movie thing where can i find it ???

Like always, Magnetichead comes out looking like an idiot. Haha.. yeah. Books. Tell me my man, did you ever thought that books are total different medium? It is almost like when you comparing movies and books, and 99% books are always better. Deus Ex has complex story line for a game, and you still can’t tell me why it sucks. Shows how much ignorance you have. Same with people who jump all over Doom III, even if they know shit about a game. Learn something first.

^^

ahah owned

Sorry for dissing you before mag. It just seems like you have really badtaste and judge games based on their CGI intros (which is uttterly newbie/troll like)

Comparison is a natural thing to do, no matter what you compare. I've stated in several different threads how Deus ex is not the game people seem to think it is, but I am still waiting to hear why its goods.

maybe you should go first and lead by example.

Or maybe youre showing YOUR ignorance by jumping on the deus ex rules bandwagon. Learn something first.

Firstly you should start on how exactlly that trailer was good.

O.K guys this its only a game clearly magnet u havent put ure opinion in at all uve just said it sucks lol :P And why do u keep saying deus ex rules bandwagon :D i could say the same thing about u with hl! :p

Firstly, I will not explain why Deus Ex is a good game. You are minority, you explain to me why it is bad. Majority doesn’t need to explain anything.

Why intro was good?

- Shows Deus Ex 2 settings, how fast world changed in 15 years.
- Gives idea what ending was chosen in the first one. System didn’t collapse.
- Also shows how progress of technology can endanger our survival. Did you see how one guy was able to destroy whole city, just with one small capsule.
- Shows some key character, like Billie Adams, chick with glowing eyes. If you read inscription on her door, you can see 'Trainee D', which can mean that there are bunch of clones of her. Also there is a scientist, who sounds a lot like Simon. If you remember first game, there was a clone of him at Area 51.
- As any intro should, it doesn’t reveal too much of the story, only adds more questions, grabs you in. At least it grabbed me, I can’t wait for this game to come out.
- Gives you idea how wars will be fought in the future. It does make more sense, I mean if you have technology, why bother using soldiers? It will be a invisible war.

It isn't a band wagon, it's an opinion. I would've liked Deus Ex even if no one else had heard of it.

I think you obviously think you are special because you don't like Deus Ex and everyone else is a conformist idiot who has no taste of their own. We like Deus Ex because it's a good game, in our opinion. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make us idiots. AND, it doesn't make you special for seeing it's flaws.

I'm guessing you don't like The Matrix?

plzz tell me where this intro can be downloaded and not fileplanet cos it sucks :p

I enjoyed the first one but the second one was awful.

If I wanted to sit and watch wood act for 90 minutes I would have watched gay porn.

Yeah one thing though, can you point to where i've pimped half life in this thread?

It shows one city, an american city, so I dont know if thats entirely correct. It also doesnt really show much change. Infact after just watching the vid again, the only thing I see thats changed is that robots fly now isntead of walking/rolling.

So they have infact thrown away the whole point of chosing an ending? So the surposed free choice in DE1 was pointless now?

This is the same kind of point as the first one so my points still stand there again, also, the capsule in design is still pretty similar to the ambrosia tanks from the first games.

Clones? Where did you grab that from? Lol. Last time I checked clones wernt born augmented, you also didnt see more than one of her so I think the clone thing is a bit of a blind grab at ideas. Its far more likly that they are just a 'cell of individuals' that happen to be newly auged agents.

Destroying a city and everyone in it isnt really a clean OR invisable war now is it.

I dont want to rgue with you, I actually want to discuss this.

I dont mind talking to you about it seriously, but I can do without the comments from the other 12 year olds here.

Well, they showed two cities, both look futuristic to me. Now, if America changed, I bet some parts of world changed too? But focus of the intro is on this event, not the rest of the world. It still, just an intro, to grab your attention. As for almost the same look comment, I would disagree. Deus Ex was just like our world, but much darker and with advanced technology, but you agree, that architecture was the same, no big changes. Now, if you watch intro again, you can see much advanced computers at the rooms, and rooms themselves don’t look modern to me. Plus look at the streets, it has futuristic feel to it, because of the use of lights everywhere and advanced displays (you see that one with dollar sign?). It is a mix. Actually this future reminds me of Blade Runner somehow.

So they have infact thrown away the whole point of chosing an ending? So the surposed free choice in DE1 was pointless now?

It is the same thing with HL, you can’t have two radical different beginnings. I also read in one of the interviews, that endings somewhat mixed, so we can guess that Denton united and became Deus Ex, maybe even he joined with illuminati after that. You see, you get more questions, than answers. It is intro after all.

This is the same kind of point as the first one so my points still stand there again, also, the capsule in design is still pretty similar to the ambrosia tanks from the first games.

They didn’t have the same affect this virus, or whatever it is, had. It destroy everything in matter of seconds.

Clones? Where did you grab that from? Lol. Last time I checked clones wernt born augmented, you also didnt see more than one of her so I think the clone thing is a bit of a blind grab at ideas. Its far more likly that they are just a 'cell of individuals' that happen to be newly auged agents.

Maybe even that, but it is not a point, to know for sure, we need to play a game, don’t we?

Adds more questions? can i ask what questions you had both before and after seeing the trailer.

Read above. Here is some example: Who are these guys, an “invisible” enemy. Where did they get such powerful weapon, why did they use it, even if it meant death of whole city.

Destroying a city and everyone in it isnt really a clean OR invisable war now is it.

Well I think it is, because you use viruses and such for a war, you don’t bomb anything now. Organization that was attacked in the intro movie, won’t publicly declare war on terror or something similar, it will fight back, but silently.

That wasnt a virus mate, viruses dont crumble concrete.

Also have you ever walked through new york or china town at night? Its lit up like a christmas tree too.

The computers wernt that much advanced than the comps in Pauls appartment.

They arnt an invisable enemy. The guys heard talking knew there was gonna be an attack. If the enemy was invisable it would have been totally unexpected.

Yes I know that New York and other big cities have a lot of lights. But that city still feels futuristic to me. As I said, if you played original Deus Ex, you would see the difference.

About viruses, I added “and such”. I know it wasn’t a virus, but some form of bio-weapon.

They knew there would be attack, but I don’t think they know it would be such big one. After that attack they even think it was some kind of new enemy, not their old enemies from a past.

But again, we can argue about small details here. Point is, game has a lot of them. This intro gives you idea what kind of feel game will have, not like original. As I said before, it gives a lot of unanswered questions and some basic idea about plot. I am sure there will be a lot of small details to the story, with twists along the way.

Now your argument about this intro sucking is only one: graphically it looks like crap. It sure is not on the same level with Blizzard or something that comes out from Japan (these guys are crazy with 3d renders), but it still looks impressive to me.

Not like the original you say? Then is this game going to be playing off the deus ex name as a means of grabbing attention?

No, it will continue the story. World changed since Deus Ex ended. Even HL 2 is much different from first one, different settings and so on. Sometimes good game must have something new to them, so they don’t feel just like graphically updated rehash.

Ah but you see we know alot more about the world of Deus Ex 2 (if you read previews) when compared to the very little we know about HL2.

Well, game has a lot of more to it in story wise department. I judge it, because I played original Deus Ex, game was very much complex. But again, this is not a point. We were arguing about that intro.

It was a nano "virus"-tiny machines that apparently consume everything in their path, reproducing as they go.

Let's be serious here though. Mr.Magnetichead is being a pure troll in this thread. Anything DeusEx2 is, he'll find some reason to hate it, no matter how irrational or nonsensical. Tell him that the game picked one direction instead of the other, and he'll say it was a stupid choice: tell him that actually they did the other, he'll say, wait, not THAT's the stupid choice. He's just posting to piss people off.

so i was right. He is so double owned.

Nope, just stating an opinion.

I dont think there was anything good about the game.

If I wanted to troll I would slag people pff, not the game, and id also post nasty pictures and use 'your mum' insults.

That is absolutly rediculous.

Nano bots would never be able to move that fast. If that really is the answer im gonna write a letter to Warren Specter asking him if I can buy some pot off him.

Ah i have deus ex, came wit my soundcard, havent tried it tho, maybe ill have to give it a try.

Actually, it's not Ridiculous. It's called the Grey Goo Sceanario The Nanobots take materials around them and use those to make more nanobots. It increases exponentially. They nanobots themselves don't actually have to move they just keep making more nanobots and the new ones spread out.

Also, It's science fiction so the Developers can make it happen as fast as they'd like. Notice it starts off slow down the guys arm, then speeds up.

Certain idiotic organisations (The UK Green Party) think that this "Grey Goo" sceanario is very likely, in the real world. And, anything nano will eat up the world. As a result, they want to ban certain hair products that contain "nanoparticles". They have no understanding of the technology and no understanding of the problem.

And I agree with Apos, Mr.Magnetichead is being unreasonable, if nothing else.

Magnetic head you have realize you started the thread and you started bashing the game. If you don't like it's fine, but why do you want to share your opinion as if it's been bothering you for some time, as if you couldn't sleep at night until you told someone that you hated Deus Ex.

Just because someone hates a game doesn't mean it's a bad game.

Yep we cant really tell much from the intro anyway can we???? like i said before the intro for dx1 was crap but was a excelent game... oh and btw Mrmagnetichead ure in this forum so u must be on the "hl2 bandwagon"
