when the game first came out, i played for weeks straight
and then, all of a sudden, i stopped altogether
and havent touched it since

is anyone still playing this game? personally, itll probably take an expansion for me to return to the game :smoking:

When I first tried the game, it was unbelieveable. Then a week afterwards, I started to lose interest and now it's become an afterthought on my hard drive. An expansion would help but to me, it needs to make some changes that likely won't ever come to fruition (Put the RPG back into it!)

I played it like crazy for a week - and haven't touched it since.
The formula of the game loses its appeal real quick.

Yeaaah, I actually lost the DVD =/

I was turned off by the idea of selling additional content when companies like Valve and Blizzard release even larger portions of content absolutely free.

QFT

'Microtransactions' blows.

I played it for about a month then i just got bored of it. It got repetetive pretty quick. Go into that dungeon, kill everything, take the treasure, sell/dump in house, repeat.

Graphics were nice though and i did like the world. Oh well.

The game just need more engaging stories, I think it would have been better if they had maybe a quarter of the side quests but each one was actually quite interesting and took 4 times longer to play. As well some obligatory non-story quests like if you read a book you find out about some strange artifact or something and can go on a quest to find it.

Basically the game needed to be less computer generated and more handed crafted to perfection, imo.

Wasted four days of my life on it.

Don't plan on going back for a LONG while.

Once you've topped off the missions in one city, you've done them all. It's the same nonsensical unimaginative bullshit.

Player walks into bar and speaks to bartender.

Bartender "Ah, so it be the treasure of Karall you be looking for? I don't trust you enough to tell you about that"

Player plays a few rounds of speachcraft

Bartender "Ah, so it be the treasure of Karall you be looking for? Well, I trust you enough, I suppose I can trust you with this. A long while ago, some guy did some thing, and you don't even really have to listen to me ramble on about this crap..."

Player answers a yes or no question.

Bartender "Well, I don't have a ****ing clue where it is. BUT, Markachia knows where it might be. She lives all the way on the other side of the fricken map. Go pay her a visit, she'll make you do some bullshit bribe for the info, then send you dungeon crawling."

No, we're not talking about Diablo II, Ren. :p

Some quests were really fun/cool and didn't involve dungeon crawling. Lot's of spell effects and the ability to craft spells = ftw! Blade - shield combat = ftw! Sneaky bow shot = ftw! Beautiful game world = ftw!

I played with a good Battlemage up to level 30 (main quest started at lvl 22, previously did lots of other quests, became Arch Mage etc., after completing the main quest I did some others during the 2 week waiting for... the thing you get after completing the MQ :))

I played with an evil female assassin/thief to do only the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quests - a different game, going sneaky with the bow and eliminating people before they see you. I think she's about level 15.

I played for a bit with a Swordsman type, but then went back to my Battlemage which is now lvl 31 and kicks ass, despite the level scaling. Now I'm doing some Daedric quests.

There is really much to do if you don't want to explore dungeons. I found the Dark Brotherhood's quests most rewarding and interesting.

I haven't actively played it, but I have a warrior Breton I'm chipping away at. The plan is to level up to about 20, then start doing major quests.

Other than that, the game did get old fast, shame because its still really good.

I still play from time to time.

I'm just pissed that I'm still level ****ing ONE, and I've cleared most of the dungeons and caves... and I'm half-way through the Dark Brotherhood.
X.x

You spend half an hour saving some counts son from the plains of obvlion.
Then you ask to buy a house, and you get "I don't like you enough to tell you that". Seriously wtf!

I stopped playing purely because it won't run half as well when I'm not overclocking, and my BIOS crashed when I was fiddlnig so my cpu was set at default clocks (AMD 2500+ instead of my overclocked 3200+). I just stopped playing because I couldn't be bothered to overclock at the time, and got back into CSS.

I plan on restarting though. My main character's save got screwed (He doesn't stop levelling up thanks to a lame levelling mod), but I just have better things to do.

I started a new mage character recently, and I haven't touched any form of weapon. It's pretty cool. I'm slowly levelling her up, but I may succumb to the pbs cheat to get all spells and become all powerful.

Played for 20 hours top, the leveling system killed it for me. Finding glass armor on bandits is a joke. I made so much money I bought Microsoft.

Played it for like 140 hours, then calmed the f*ck down. I'll still pop it in occasionally, but not a lot.

I've played it too bloody long. If I play it again my head will explode.

This sums up why I don't play it any longer.

Finished mages quest. At this point I'm godlike with armor maxed out and spells that will kill even the strongest monster quickly. Long story short, leveling system killed it for me.

heh like 90% of these complaints are fixed with simple things like mods or using speechcraft ("don't like you enough")

It was really fun at one point but after 100 hours it was enough, and my mage iddn't do too well anyhow. She could kill but she got killed fast, I prefered the thief/warrior hybrid way more.

After I completed the main story, I lost interest in it... pretty fast. It was very fun the first 10 hours, but it became more and more repetitive so after 60+ hours I stopped playing it.
Actually one of many few games I've spent so much time on, if you don't count Gran Turismo 3 and Grand Theft Auto 3 which I spent countless time on. ;)

It's the only game I've played for the past month for the most part. 0_o

I just uninstalled it after not being able to level up for the entire duration of playing the game. :|

I played it crazy when it came out. Now I am on and off. Mods are the only reason I keep coming back.

I played it a lot at first, and still would be except it constantly crashes to the point of unplayability. I suspect it's my borked gfx card overheating, so I'll probably come back and attack it properly when I get a new one, if ever.

Someone should make a mod that fixes all these problems, I would but I play it too much.

That's what I thought when mine was crashing all the time, see if you have any luck with this - http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=107324

When I first got the game I couldn't stop playing. Not knowing what you were doing kinda made it more fun in a way as you didn't know what was going to happen next. Some fun moments were looking for valuable things and pretty much picking up everything not knowing half of it is just crap, getting raped by some bandits in a ruin just outside of the imperial sewer and many more I can't remember. I spent most of my time getting arrested though at first since I didn't know I was committing crimes. :|

About 3 weeks later it's starting to wear thin. I just can't seem to keep myself interested for as long as before. Quests are boring and I can't be bothered to close Oblivion gates even though I want the Sigil stones. I just done the Arena cause I wanted to see Adoring Fan but I left him in a shop somewhere. Might play it every now and then though but it won't be long before I put it away.

I played it for about 4 days when it first came out and that was the last time I have touched it.

Played it for about 40 hrs and slowly realised just how boring and shallow the world/quests/npc were. The saying "if you try to please everyone you won't please anyone" fits this game well.

Usually after playing a game for 24 hours+ you'll think it sucks.

I played it for about 2 months straight, then... just... stopped. Now I'm back into San Andreas and reminded about what an immersive world should be all about. Sure, it's not realism, but by gods it's fun.

It's been said before, but, it's just not the same as Morrowind, or any other Elder Scrolls Games, they took all of the gameplay away from it, in morrowind there were like 50+ quests, not including factions, in this one there was like 10 scripted quests.... the only things better are: House buying, Horses, Graphics, and combat.

Everything else was just changed for the worse...

I stopped playing it, simply because they've ruined the Elder Scrolls, I don't plan on going back to it.

BTW, thats such a coincidence, I started playing San Andreas for the PC once I stopped playing Oblivion - I made a guy that looks EXACLY like Mr. T, same haircut (Short mohawk + beard), gold chain, muscle as high as it can go, I love that game!
