Basically a follow up from colsons thread, this time on G-Karting. I tried it 3 times before and love racing around at 70mph :imu:

yea, my buddy has one a honda something with a 35hp motor. It's crazy, i'd love to stick some lights on it and drive it around town ;)

The first time I went Karting was outdoors on those little twin engined numbers.

Although it was claimed they had the potential to go 60mph, us amateurs on the limited track maybe got about 40 mph out of them, but it was still great!

Second time I went it was pissing rain. Now that was quality fun!

I'm building one for a project, don't ask about it... yet.

I'll make a thread on it if I ever get started.

My first try was...

Well, let's just say I had an unpleasant collision between my kart and someone's house.

Ouch!! :S

I tried it once in france on tarmack with pretty powerful little go carts, it was great because they recorded your laptimes pretty accurately so you could go back and try and beat your best time of the last session. Great Fun!

It's great. Outdoors still beats indooors imo. Definately when it's a nice, sunny day.

I was in a go cart collision. Bent the f*** out of the front end of my cart.

Several friends of mine and I owned them back in the day. Mine topped out at like 55 offroad, it was a good time. A buddy of mine had a HUGE backyard with trails going through the woods etc.. it was awesome.

We also went to the places where you pay $5 to do like 10 laps or something.

I tried once, was way ahead in the lead when this flying blue shell came out of no-where and blew me up.

Never karted again. :(

yep its a great laugh...

my friend used to race them on the weekend, pretty sweet and competitive it was....

Meh, horror story for you guys.

I was at a home-grown amusment place, I guess you'd call it (waterslide, go-karts, bouncy thingies). But anyway, I thought I'd go the go-karts once or twice. The first time was fine, but this guy got REALLY close to me and made me really nervous. I went on 'em the second time and I noticed that the same guy was going on them again too. So, on about the 3rd lap he gets really close again and I yell over: "Knock it off asshole!" Just as I said that he jerks left (I was riding on the inside of him, him on my right, and the barrier on my left; the barrier was thick wood pices, then tires, then more wood) and smashes me all the way through the barrier, through the tires... everything. I wasn't hurt (which surprised me) but VERY rattled.

I got out, and saw him walking away. I walked up to the back of him and pushed him to the ground, kicked him once in the stomach. Now that I think about it, I shoulda kicked him in the face. God knows he deserved it.

As I walked away, I said: "Apology accepted." I thought that was a nice touch. Ha.

Hah. I always wanted one when I was young, but I got a little old for most of them and opted for a dirtbike instead. :D
Essentially the same thing with half the wheels.

There's always one of those kind of guys at go-karting tracks. I was at a place called Grand Prix a number of years ago, and they have a track where both kids and adults can race, the go-karts don't go very fast, maybe 20mph. Anyway there's this one guy about 30 years old, and for the whole race he's weaving around the track, cutting people off, and forced a 10 year old kid off the track and into the tires. As soon as the race was over, the kid's dad ran over and started beating the shit out of the 30 year old guy. Can't say he didn't deserve it. :p

Yeah I've had some karting experience. 50cc only mind, and probably Toad most.

But seriously, I went twice when I was little, crashed big time on the second occcassion. Luckily there was car (some sports car, can't remember) which wasn't parked where it usually was, because if it was there I would have made a nice dent in it ;(

Yup I've done it maybe about 5 or so times. The guy that rents them out up by where I live is pretty tihgt and it costs quite a bit to do like 10 laps so I don't go very often. He's such a joke. He always makes them go really slow too because he's a paranoid tight ass. But all in all it was pretty fun.

Haha. That sounds more fun then the actual carting itself.

I barely remenber I drived a few but that was looooooooooooooong time ago

also I ha a friend who hav one and he hav been spending a lot of money on the gokart almost as much to buy a ford ka
but is also cuz he is a litle dumb, for example his dad used to be a gokart racer too and he given it some required shoes(or it was a friend the true I dont remenber but he get the shoes free) but he didnt used them and buyed a new ones in a high price, and he didnt wanted that shoes cuz they where black, and he want red,the jacket the helemt everything red even if he had others ones that can be usefull but he decides to spend more money for red clothe

Yea, I've only been on 5-10hp karts, maybe 3 or 4 times.
It'd be sweet to ride one that goes 50+mph...I want to so bad now :(

Got a Murray for my 10th birthday way back in the day. Was hella fun to go through the desert with, but people out there with quads would always make me feel dumb because they'd be able to go way faster than me and over worse terrain, but I was only 10 and it wasn't really safe to be on my own quad then.

Man, of all the things I like about Arizona it's just that fact, we can do whatever we want.

Earlier drove a half mile down into the wash/BLM land, hooked up a sled to my friend's truck and just went off. The kid riding it had helmet and a goggles on, which was hillarious because he looked like one of those cartoon pilots. Good times.

WTF?

So when my dad got pissed and told me I was a robot, he wasn't lying? ;(

I own one. On weekends I drive it through the many paths of my 74 acre ranch. Not sure the power, or the mph and I'm too lazy to check, but I know it's big and goes pretty fast. At least, with just me in; I'm 130 pounds.
