I've been playing this for a few days now and I really like it. It's a street racer along the lines of NFS: Underground, however Juiced definitely comes out on top.
Cars come in front, rear and 4 wheel drive. Unlike NFSU though, you can actually appreciate these qualities. FWD cars understear, RWD cars usually require large spoilers to take corners at speed, while 4WD cars are deamons at sprint race.
Customising cars is also a lot more individual. Instead of having 20 body kits that are used for every car, every car has 3 body kits unique to it. Painting is also done by number charts too, allowing you to find exactly the right shade instead of a predefined one.
The races themselves are also very entertaining. For example you can bet on the outcome if you choose to watch instead of take part. If you do enter a race, but have no chance of winning, you can still bet with the slower competitors. Then if you finish infront of them you still get something out of it!
The game also rewards skilled drivers as all cars need to be maintained (fuel, nitrous etc) after a race. However if you rode the barrier around every turn and rear-ended your opponents then your car will require extra work, running into thousands.
You can also build a crew around you. A feature I haven't seen before. You can use these guys to do races for you, while you tell them to push or hold position. You can also enter team races, three teams of 2 or two teams of 3, where the first crew to get all their cars home win. These can become very tactical, one I like to use is holding up the opposition while the others race ahead, risky but a winner.
I think it also deserves a mention that this game features not only modern "ricers" but propper american muscle cars too. There is also a Dodge Viper to be had, however this is an exotic and I don't know how it fits into the street racing scene.
I'm having a hell of a time with this game at the moment, anyone else playing it?
