Anyone want it delayed?

I know I am in the huge minority but I actually want HL2 to be delayed. This way it will be closer to Call of Duty and eventually DoomIII. Therefore I will be able to buy better hardware to run some of the great games coming in the future.
 
lol.. Just don't buy it! And wait till you have your hardware... that's such lame.

Ya i thought of that, but I want it too. So if its delayed it makes it easy for me.

Hehehehe, I had a epox 8kha+ with and 1800XP but a power surge killed the mobo and the PSU so I had to pull out the old stuff from the closet.... a super fast Asus A7V133, 1Ghz Tbird, and 256MB of SDRAM and Geforce 2 Pro.
 
You can play with your current config... Gabe said you need atleast a Pentium III 700Mhz with a TNT2... So play HL2 with your current rig and buy another one when Doom III come out. ;)

I'm still deciding on what my new rig should be, so I wouldn't mind a little delay to buy me more time.
 
I'm in the same situation. I've had a hard time finding work, and I refuse to buy new stuff until I know I have a solid job. So no matter what happens, I have something to be happy about.
 
I know this sounds crazy, but I kind of like the anticipation of waiting for it. Don't get me wrong, as soon as it's released I'll be knocking over senior citizens to buy it, but I like the mentality everyone has when they haven't played it.
After I play the game and see what's going on with the multi-player the little spark of curiosity inside my stomach will be gone.
I guess I just like the feeling of knowing probably the best game in history is right around the corner, and not knowing hardly anything about it.

Does that make sense?

I'll not only be knocking down senior citizens, I will even knock down children and the mentally handicapped. I wrote a little song in honor of how much sense it does make.

Yes it makes a lot of sense, but the rush of actually playing the game is better than just waiting for it, trust me. But I dont like the "mentality" everyone here has; the "Im-from-the-future" guy, or the "stfu noob" kid...

I can't understand the "I hope it's delayed so I can upgrade" mentality. Delay it in your own world and don't buy it but don't wish delays on the rest of us please. You could always play it on your old kit and then upgrade and play it again. Would be a good test of how much gfx and framerate etc effect enjoyment of a game.
 
Well, I won't be able to run HL2. I have a 333mhz celeron, GeForce 2 MX400 (32mb) and 384mb ram... If only my processor was faster, but then again, I dunno anywhere or anyone that has a slot 1 processor for sale.

p3-800 with Gf4-MX and 256mb of ram....

Upgrading when I pre-order HL2 a week before it comes out.

Yeah, I guess so. Just give me credit. Took me long long long strenuous seconds to write it. I just get in a wacky mood late at night. Ya know, I forget to take my medication, drink a couple Pina Coladas, and I just get inspired to write. :)
 
I'm just 100 mhz above the minimum! A p3 800 with a tnt2.
But i'm not going to play it until i get my new system in Oct/Nov.
It's going to be tough, so wish me luck ;)
 
He has a 333 Celeron yet 384 mb RAM. I have an Athlon 850 on 128mb RAM :x
 
I would rather have the game on a crappy computer than have to wait a several months to play it on a good one.
 
Why, so you can play it the way it isnt supposed to look?
I bet if i'd play it on my system, the mighty Source engine would look like Half-Life 1. I'd rather wait a coupla months and play it with all details to the max to get totally blown away! :)
 
Hehe, when Black and White came out a while ago I had a 400 mhz system with a voodoo 3. But that didn't stop me from buying it.

I enjoyed it even at 640 x 480 res :p
 
If it looks like HL1, then you upgrade to a high-end computer... you probably will be blown away by the difference.
 
Hell no, it better not get delayed or I'm going to pick up my AK-47 and go on rampage.

If you're not using it, would it be okay if I buy it off you? I'm desperate to play HL2, thanks in advance...

Btw, I live in England, so if you live in the USA, there might be problems...
