Well i'm on UK time zone so I was all ready to play my steam version of Half life 2.
My error which has been the same through out is simple I get to the loading screen then it flips me back to desktop no error.
counterstrike source does exactly the same.
My system
Windows XP pro SP2
AMD 64 3200+
MercuryKVT 800X-L motherboard
1024 mb ddr.
Point of view Nvidia 6800 GT graphics card
Audigy v1 sound card
"could be a corrupt download file"
Well I ported my entire valve directory to my wifes pc and the game runs on hers
Windows xp professional sp2
AMD XP 2800
1gb ddr
NF2 Abit motherboard
gygabyte 5900xt graphics
onboard sound ac 97
But still I deleted my entire steam and redownloaded.
No difference.
I removed my Audigy card completely (only card in my system) no change.
I tried running with the -console the +autoconfig etc etc.
I've tried updating my via 4 in 1
I've tried running in Dx 7 - 8
Nothing
