I have to admit I'm a sucker for simulations and theis one was developed by the company that brought IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. Looks really god and is increadibly cheap considering it hasn't been released yet.

I'm confused. It says that it's going to be released for the 360 and PS3, yet at the botom I see a PC DVD software icon. So is it coming to the PC too, or not?

Doesn't look quite as good as Nuclear Strike on the PS1. That was the pinnacle of apache games.

Tried the demo. Meh. I'm not sure if it's meant to be a proper sim or what, but the regular controls were awkward as hell, even when trying to do something as simple as aiming while hovering. Keep in mind you have the option to set it to "normal" or "realistic" when starting a mission, and the actual flight controls were quite simple... they just seem very rigid and unrefined when trying to perform precise actions.

But hey, I'm not really big on helicopters or flight sims, so it's not for me anyway. Mostly tried it on a friend's behest.

What did you use, though? If it's like a 'serious' sim or something they may expect you to have a joystick.

I used a controller, but it's not a serious sim, not with the controls I was using. It's probably different in realistic, but in normal you're stuck on a fixed axis unless you expressly use the ascend/descend controls (tilting or banking doesn't effect this), and everything kind of feels very rigid as though it's on training wheels. I'll try realistic later and see how it fares...

I disagree, Jane's Combat Simulations: Longbow 2 was the ultimate Apache game, though naturally since it was a hardcore sim(with an excellent dynamic campaign and mission planner), I guess most people haven't heard of it, not outside of those who are in the sim-community anyway.

Bad^Hat, like Birds of Prey it does have quite awkward controls, and does try to be a lot more sim-like than most console flight-games do.

Either way, I will not be getting this, I am not that particularly interested in a flight "sim" with a set of linear missions/linear campaign and without a full-fledged mission editor etc.
