APB (All Points Bulletin)

I honestly can't wait, EA is publishing APB though, so let's pray to God they don't **** it up.

This looks ****ing awesome.

I see one problem though. Network latency in a GTA like game that requires high responsiveness and low to no network lag.

It also says 100 players...

Does that make this a limited mmorpg?

At a show in Brighton, Jones said that a BETA announcement is 'Very close'. Users who registered before June 11th, at APB-Evolved were guaranteed beta access by Realtime World's Community Manager Chris 'Ulric' Dye

Register for this shit now!

Scenarios that bring conflict to players in a logical way are always fun.

I'm gonna be a Latina hood rat gone crazy killer bitch.

I've just registered in their forums and found this:

What is the beta exclusive for members of apb evolved

To summarise the exclusive, anyone who was a member of this forum before 11 Jun 2008 14:58, is guaranteed a place in the beta, once testing of the game reaches an appropriate stage. When this means people of this forum will be getting into the beta is unknown, all the information we have was posted in the thread created by Ulric.

:(

Not too impressed with the animations and vehicle physics, judging from that trailer.

Also, the graphic style seems more Crackdown than GTA IV and I don't like this.

Oh my god, this is so old! No, seriously! I remember reading a short news story about this game in PC Gamer, circa 2003! Wow. This is a surprise to see it back on the release calendar.

From the bit they showed at E3 it doesn't look like it's even close to being finished, the city was pretty much barren besides the bits that were being focused on.

This used to be a property of Webzen Games, who are also working on Huxley if i remember correctly. Yeah, it's been around for quite a while but went nowhere until recently. I was glad when i heard that the Crackdown devs got a hold of it. Could go either way with EA involved. Also, there have been rumors that they plan to sell the game to Rockstar Games in order to recraft it as a Grand Theft Auto MMO. We'll see.

Expect to see a micro transactions system. All future MMO's will likely have one.
Even the ones with subscriptions.
It's unlikely that we are going to see something like Guild Wars again in the near future.

That I can handle. My gaming time is fairly precious these days, so a non grind game which I can drop in and out of with little consequence but that offers me persistence of character is no bad thing.

Signed up for the beta. Very interested the game and seeing how well it all works.

Oh I forgot about this! Signed up! Looks rather interesting.

Are you quoting that from somewhere? Or are you one of the devs?

I hear that, I got so many games to play, so little time..

Just for example, I own fortyfour X-Box 360 games, I've only actually played through 17 of'em.

And that's only on the 360, not counting my other collections such as PC and PS2.

I just hope that the net code is stable. I agree a bit with the commentator.
It's not too overly impressive atm. (animations, visuals etc.) Too early to pass any further judgment though. The game has a long way to go. The march release is far from realistic. They haven't even started the beta yet.

Signed up now. Didn't see this thread update.

can somebody do me a HUGE favor and send me their dxdiag file that the beta registration requires? I'm at work so it's pointless to send crappy specs and I assume they won't let me participate if I send shit specs.

All you need to do is type dxdiag in run, wait for progress bar to finish click "save my information".

Compliance involves sexual favors

The point of the beta is to see how it works on all different computers, so they want good and bad computers to play it. Plus, why dont you just wait until youre home on your pc to send the appropriate ones? Someone sending your theirs defeats the purpose of the beta, and is really shitty to the devs because it will give them false information that they may act on.

The beta will be just that a beta, not a finished game. If you are lucky enough to get in your priority should be on helping the developers identify bugs and performance issues more than anything else. Sure hopefully it will be fun to experience it before its finally released, but know that whatever character you make won't carry over to retail so don't get too attached to them.

Signed up as well. I love beta testing games, so hopefully I get into this one! :D

I'm totally not in the Beta for this, so I sure as hell won't be running around in the beta come Sunday evening when it allegedly starts, for the record.

Yeah, me neither. I totally wont be playing it at all tomorrow.

Wait, were you being sarcastic? You son of a bitch!
