Valve, in partnership with Aperture Science dba Aperture Laboratories, announced today the release of "Boots", the fourth and final instalment of the "Product" series of Aperture investment videos. Potential investors can learn more about the latest in momentum-resistant footwear, the Long Fall Boot at the Portal 2 blog.[br]Portal 2, will be available 7AM PST this coming Tuesday, April 19th.

Naturally there is ARG stuff in this video again...

There are numbers starting at 0:10 to 0:18.
Numbers: http://pastebin.com/5pFutHhd
By XOR with 236 (0xEC) we get the decoded message:

I've located enough test subjects to bypass the defense grid. Now I can see why they worked so hard to protect everyone's eyes from the "art" inside. Fortunately, the initiative has also given me just enough power to activate the Post-Prelude Pre-Reboot Multi-Chamber Collaboration Recruitment Protocol. I am watching, and your efforts will not go unrewarded. Stand by.

That bit with
(supposedly) Chell doing all those acrobatics was pretty intense.
I know Valve would rock doing a movie based on one of their IPs if this is the kind of stuff they manage while advertising.

I like how Aperture made the boots, not for the protection of their test subjects, but so that the Portal Gun wouldn't get broken :p

That's apparently Cave's style. He's an eccentric engineer who has stopped caring for the needs or wellbeing of the test subjects, as long as he gets results.

quantum shaping prongC

Note: if the device fails to produce portals, the Minature Black Hole may need to be restarted by carefully tossing one (1) or two (2) or the minature stick grenades into it.

fan battery housing
miniature black hole
miniature black hole cooling fan
ring singularity harness
ring singularity ring (upper)
ring singularity ring (lower)
event horizon estimation wheel

Note: the sudden absence of a steady whirring sound may indicate a Miniature Black Hole Cooling Fan Battery failure. Quickly disassemble the Ring Singularity Harness, pry apart the upper and lower Ring Singularity Rings, and gently remove the Event Horizon Estimation Wheel. Then, while running directly away from the device, use the Wheel to precisely determine an estimated minimum safe stopping distance.

Pixar paid the bills by doing TV advertising for years before making Toy Story. Makes you think...

They actually showed Chell. I never thought they would. Even Gordon's never been in any Half-Life cinematic videos.

Well in fairness, they already had a model made for Chell. It's not like the assets were made just for the video. If they made a video with Gordon they would have to.

Oh my goodness. That was bloody amazing. D: D: D: D: D:

I love the ARG.

I love Cave.

I'm buying Portal 2 right now so I can preload it hopefully.

Chell is a female. Also, she is athletic and good-looking. There's no need to say more.

Awesome video, the acrobatic bits were pretty awesome.

Ever seen one of CCP's trailers?

Ya for real lol. What you expect, them to make a game with a girl that looks like Rossie O'Donnell doing all those moves? Nerds would be pissed all over!

Video game girls are not good-looking btw. They are fake.

/Implying something that artificially represents a person cannot be attractive.

To me no,

While artificially created characters posses human traits that one may find attractive, they still are missing the biggest trait of all. They are nothing but images created by a developer. These images are nothing but lines of code or/and pixels. You can never see them beyond your screen. There "attractiveness" is limited to the computer you are using to view them.

It is difficult for me to find a created girl/women attractive. The idea that the person does not exist and the fact that some guy sitting behind his computer made character doesn't work for me. I can see why others may find an artificial character attractive though, just not for me i suppose.

Same as porn. :p

I can't remember the command offhand, but when I was watching Chell do those flips, I was reminded of the console command that lets removes the pitch limit on your mouse--you keep looking up until your view cycles back around. You can pretend like you're doing a flip with the command. It'd be a fun way to play Portal.

to clear some of that apparent confusion, I was refering to how the Portal 1 chell was actually quite ugly compared to the new one.

What I'd give for that piece of ass.
