App Request: Rar Archive Repairer

I have a large (4GB) rar archive that is missing a little bit of information (I think 2Megs) at the start of the archive. The archive is actually a big archive of a multipart archive, so if I can recover any of the files it would help in restoring what I have.

Is there a rar app that will put out all the good files in the archive?

So you have a broken game DVD torrent. Please don't try and make out that it is not. Illegal torrent are just about the only thing where you get such a large file broken down into many small rar files.

Firstly, I don't think that HL2.net is here to help with your pirating problems.

Secondly, you can't "repair" missing software information with some sort of tool. It's missing. You don't know what code is supposed to be written in there, neither does your PC, or some random piece of software. If you don't have it, you don't have it. You can't just "make it up".

Hopefully it was one of those fake torrents that waste your time and data cap, if you have one.

Rather than posting here you should post on the torrent site (forums) from where u has downloaded the torrent.

I think it's funny that you people *assume* that I've pirated a game.
You do realize, that if you own the game downloading it is LEGAL?
My brother has my dvd and I can't get it back for another couple weeks...

Actually that doesn't make it automatically legal. But you are probably safe from someone trying to sue you.

I had a part way downloaded Rar file on my PC (missing the last part) and it extracts some of the files perfectly fine with Winrar. It might be that the beginning is important to identify files within the rar file.

So we should just take your word for that then, and help you with a (probably) illegal download. No thanks. Also, that is NOT legal in most countries. And in the few countries where back-ups ARE legal, you can usually only make a copy WITH YOUR DISC, and NOT download the game from somewhere. Glad to see I hit the nail on the head with my assumtion that you were tring to sort out a downloaded illegal game torrent though. My skills grow stronger each day...

Stop whining and let the moderators do their job (if they think its needed).

Try open it in Winrar and then check "Keep broken files" or something along those lines when you extract. That might work.
