I am Really getting sick of this stupid pop-up. As soon as i installed half life 2 on my computer, it said that. So i put in the command line parameter :

+mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1

I put that on half life 2, cs-source, and hl2 dm.

Half life 2 and cs-source started working after a validated their game file caches and put in the command line. But even after doing the command line and the caches on hl2 dm, i still got the same error at startup. Determined i thought it was to do with the resoloution. So i set it to 800x600 and tried running it. It then said that the video setting were not normal and would return to normal at the next startup. So i switched it back to 1280x1024 and it worked like frikin magic. I know download Garry's mod supposedly a really kickass mod and voila the error is back again. All my other hl2 thing work like hl2, cs source, and hl2dm, but nope not Garry's mod. I was wonerding if anyone could point me into any directiong i can take. Here are my system specs...

my friend hsa the same type of memory problem, someone should make a sticky to all hl2 hardware problem solutions

retarted

the gay thing is that i did all of those nothing works at all

and that would be nice for it to be stickied also

yeah i have the same problem.. kinda ruined the game for me

I got a similar prob after tweaking with my memory settings and crashing HL2.

Not sure if you have to do the full process, but I found a thread which suggested the following:

uninstall Radeon drivers, uninstall .net, reboot, install .net, install drivers

worked for me!

Bump

:afro: BUMP! people have to get this problem SOVLED!
