Arcania: Gothic 4 Demo Released

having fun with the demo with only a few minor complaints.
I really hope one of your minor complaints was that witch's voice. I heard that and thought, "You have got to be kidding me!" And it just kept going and going and going. Why is it that the worst voice actor has the most effing lines??

Yeah, the witch was downright painful to listen to. So was that friend of yours who crafts the ring.

Is there a 1st person option like in 3, or nein?

ya I skipped her dialogue whenever i could. grating voice is an understatement

Crom: dont think there's 1st person. kinda annoying that in combat the camera pulls back at a fixed distance. a little too far from the action in my opinion

Hmmm thanx. Beats me why anyone would prefer following a plastic puppet around than playing 1st person in this day and age. Especially with such a nice looking engine.

but in first person you cant see that awesome uber helmet you just found. plus you do a lot of rolling around to avoid being hit. that would be confusing in 1st person

That kind of gameplay is not suitable for first person, I agree. Nevertheless I personally miss new RPGs designed to work in first person like Oblivion/Fallout 3. I hope that Bethesda will keep the tradition alive.

Damn demo files with vundo trojans attached :flame:

Knew this game would be bad news.

Do you honestly believe that's not a false alarm?

I should probably make a thread on it, but has anyone played Two Worlds 2 yet? I downloaded the English version of it from the Shop link on its homepage and it is pretty damn awesome so far. Great graphics, great story (so far), great voice acting, great combat. No complaints at all yet.

I haven't been following Two Worlds at all but that sounds great, will probably buy it around christmas time when I'm at my gaming PC again.

On topic though, Gothic 4 was a suitably mediocre experience, sometimes it looked incredible other times it looked like trash. My biggest problem was the ****ing ending. Same with Divinity 2, **** that shit. I'd bet those two games are the reason I'm obsessing over how my New Vegas ending comes together.
