Are games getting Boring?

Crappiest Console ???? The X-box is the best console to date until the 360 and it's on that, i also have Area 51 for it and i'm not dissapointed by it, its a good game.

In your opinion. I think the Gamecube is heads and shoulders better, but that is my opinion like your love for the Xbox is your opinion. I look for fun gameplay, not overall horsepower. What good is horsepower when the best game you can come up with is Halo?

My mistake. Cross platformers are dumbed down to the crappiest system. When looking at the PC and Xbox side by side, there is no question that the Xbox is worse in every single aspect. I played the Area 51 PC demo and I couldn't imagine a game that was more generic or had worse gameplay. To each their own.

I'm starting to loose my connection with computer gaming. CS just gets boring after a while, and I spend all day downloading a stupid mod, play it once and never play the mod again. Whats the matter with me? Maybe its because I'm getting old. :(

Change games, FPS games are boring...it's just the way they are!.

I know if I had broadband I'd be playing all the time, but I live in this asshole part of the world which is 10 years behind the rest.

1. It's fact that the X-box is the best console out atm.

2. I am a huge nintendo fan and have been since the NES i was only using the X-box as an example.

3. Halo has been one of the best selling games of all time.

Of course the PC is going to be better but the PC is not a console like the X-box or GC. As for Area 51 i think it's great, There is nothing wrong with wanting to blast hordes after hordes of aliens, i mean, you didn't see anyone complaining about Space Invaders :p

You guys need a magical thing called World of Warcraft.

All consoles sucks.
…at first person shooters. They are good for other things, things that don’t need such pinpoint control. Sports games, racing games and beat ‘em ups for example. The three game genres I hate most by the way. But every now and then there’s a gem; Bomberman, Micro Machines and Worms spring to mind. Unfortunately these are so few and far between I feel my Xbox was wasted money and I doubt I’ll buy any of the next gen consoles. And now that my beloved FPSs are being watered down to cater for these consoles, its looking like I may stop upgrading my PC.

I remember a few years back I heard developers don’t put much thought into the ending of games because very few people finish them. I couldn’t understand why someone would not finish a game that they liked, but I’ve always been a bit obsessive about that sort of thing, never liking to think I might be missing out on something. But now, I rarely finish games either. I think I’m just getting bored of the same old stuff. I think developers have gotten complacent. They know that large numbers of kids are going to get into gaming every year, so they can get away with selling the same stuff over and over as long as they keep with the times. Unfortunately this may sustain them for a very long time, because most things never get better until they hit rock bottom.

Gaming's not getting too boring for me.
Luckily I'm behind on alot of the games that were just released a couple years ago.
Just recently got Call of Duty Deluxe, having a BLAST with the multiplayer...and I couldn't believe how much replayability the singleplayer had.

Planning on getting Farcry, despite the mixed reviews...saying the mp sucks, and those "Trigen" horror stories...
Meh, I'm a slow gamer.

Bah to WOW, i got Guild Wars the other day and i have to say i am F****** amazed  !!

...and 3 months later you will be F******** bored!!!

Maybe :D

I'm waiting for Age of Empires 3. That should do the trick, hunting buffalos with natives, blowing holes in ships with cannons, shooting everyone in sight, and making love to paris women back home.

Yeah games are getting boring. Usually, for RPGs at least, the central fun is seeing your character progress, better weapons/armor/magic. The fun in FPS's is generally competition or cinematics, Counter-Strike and war games like CoD or BF1942/DS, respectively.

I've only played one game where I felt truly happy to be in a single player environment.

Half-Life 2.

Well, Civ II still rocks (I still play it every now and then). I played Lord Of The Rings mod for civ2 and it's pretty cool.

On the other hands, games are boring because people that make them try to mime Hollywood cinematics and stuff. When did we see a last good step towards a good AI? I still think that the last step was grunt AI in HL1. Everything else is just meh.

Whole-heartedly agree.

Nothing has come close in terms of the revolutionary A.I that was the Half-life grunt. Halo? Bah. Sure its good A.I but all they really do is aim well and duck and weave alot. They rarely advance, if ever. Far Cry? Heck no, the A.I cheats and can sense you a mile away, ruining potential chats between NPC's. Not to mention thats incredibly glitchy. Half-life 2 had good A.I when they weren't standing still and were actually co-ordinating. But i dont think Valve made the best use of it in the campaign. I saw better A.I in Das Roboss then i did in Half-life 2. I actually died more times playing those three levels then i did throughout all of Half-life 2.

The only game that i can think of that does come close is Freedom Fighters. They're just plain fun to fight over and over and over again, plus they dont cheat like Far Cry and they flank and advance unlike Halo. Great game. Very underrated and one of my favourite games of the last few years.

Never again..never again.

havent actually played games much and im finding it hard to stay interested...So many games i havent finished - many more i havent started...

And to tell the truth, i havent finished HL2 despite havin it a long time

/me runs from the angry mob

wow! everyone seems to be bored of games! This is a REVOLUTION! Soon the youth of our time will RISE UP and claim their souls from the evil grasps of mass media. MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!

After reading my post about what i said about the Half-life 2 A.I, and finishing the game again for the 3rd time last night i totally disagree with everything i said about it. The A.I was great when i was playing through it again. Guess it just seemed easy the 2nd time round because i had started again immediately after finishing the game.
