I smoke cigarettes on a regular basis and drink alcohol on the weekends. I'll smoke marijuana every once in a while. Bought some salvia that I wanted to try out... Turns out the douche bag sold me tea. I'll get the real shit at another point in time.

I want to experiment with a lot more drugs, barring a couple like cocaine and heroin.

You cant get high off smoking cigarrettes, you can with marjuana, and if it was legel stupid people would get them, get high, then go kill people or do crimes.

Therefore, more people would do stupid things, i.e.- crimes (not really murder though). The people getting killed comes from drug related violence, not really people comitting murder because they are high.

Here's a good one, which I'd like to point out occurs in every drugs argument, and is probably why the issue of legalisation is forbidden to be brought up in the UK parliment - the pro drugs people accept that drugs can be bad, but generally, if done correctly, are ok. We back that up with studies, quotes, government figures etc.

Anti-drugs people get a little confused, say their mate once thru a whitey and sh*t himself, or they once tried weed and felt a bit "weird".

Why do people do drugs
Why do you play half life 2? It gives you pleasure, a pleasure derived from extrenal stimuli.
Drugs however get involved in the chemical functions in your brain, more often than not blocking endomorphine receptors in the brain, or increasing endomorphine output. Other things, both positive and negative occur as well.
Let me explain, as best I can, my drug experience this weekend. It was possibily the best tym I've had for a year, maybe more.

OK, me and some uni friends went to cardiff and went clubbing, each of us took 2 e's. One of my mates dropped 2 straight away, and after an hour or so felt a bit woozy, sat down, then got up and danced. I dropped one, then a few hours later the second. This is what I experienced.
* Feeling total empathy for everyone in the club; telling my friends I really loved them, and them telling me we'll be friends for life etc etc - lovey dubby stuff. When I saw a guy who looked a bit nailed I gave him my bottle of water. Friendly stuff.
* A lot of energy, I can't usually dance for in excess of 4-5 hours.
* Finding pleasure in whatever I was doing; if I was sitting down it was literally the most comfortable seat I'd ever sat on, if I was dancing I was having the best dance of my life, even queuing at the bar was really fun - I've no idea why - except for the fact that my brain was recieving several times the amount of the natural forming 'happy drug' found in the human brain than usual.
* The music. Jesus. Literally can't explain how good it felt.


Now, E's are class a drugs - and so in doing what I did I was risking up to 7 years in prison. Enough to put most people off - I really don't want people who don't do drugs to start thinking E's would be cool.

Secondly, you can have a bad time on E's, and they're not easy to get out of. Rare, admittedly, but just as u can start feeling bad when drunk, you can start feeling paranoid on e, and it's much harder to shake than if it were alcohol induced.

What I find interesting is the perception of danger involved with Ectasy; let me clear some things up.

Statistically you are more likely to die taking an aspirin than an e.

While the chances of dying on e are very slim indeed, it's quite an extreme experience, and messes with the chemicals in your head - sometimes you can feel funny for a day or two after, and if done a lot, over an extended period you can mess your head up.

Nobody has ever died of the 'toxic' effects of e.

People 200 people in the last 15 years in the UK have died, after taking e, as a result of....heatstroke, OD on water, and with older people, heart problems. E is not completely safe.

Now, taking all that into account; should I be liable for 7 years imprisonment? Should I be frowned upon for having a great night? Was I violent? Have I ever been violent on e? Was I a danger to anyone except perhaps myself?

What I'm pointing out here, is that knowledge of drugs is widely sketchy amongst the public, and they're hammered with the extreme worst case scenario "facts" as though they happen all the time - which they don't. Hence, just because the majority of people are against drugs (which I believe is a lie; 51% of the UK has smoked dope, and every drug voting thread I've seen has ended up in favour of legalisation or drugs in general) does not mean that anyone who says "drugs are bad mmkay" is right.

Put simply, there'll always be extremes of opinions. I often hear that weed is "totally safe" which it's not, but at the same time it's much safer than many legal things.
So what can you do?
It's easier to stick to one extreme point of view, because that takes no effort, no facts are needed, I noticed the guy who started this thread said he knew nothing about drugs, then said we're "poisoning" ourselves. Just goes to show how many people fall into the extreme government and media reported end of drug the drug scale.

I like the lack of knowledge, regarding drugs, people who say this tend to have, and yet their willingness to put down drug users, labelling them as weak, and telling them how they're going to wake up in a week in a skip, insane, and totally dependant on smack.

I like the saying; If you feel comfortable with the risks involved (www.drugscope.org.uk) and feel like YOU want to try something (not ur mates making you) then give it a go. Don't go OTT, keep things in perspective, and if you experience a negative side effect, don't say we didn't warn you

Exactly, I also love it when people let their friends talk them into doing drugs (or just about anything) then blame drugs when their lives are messed up. I am trying to irradicate the world of drugs and drug users. My parents know I dont do drugs and are against them as well.
