Ofcourse they are. They're killing themselves in the process. Suicide is meant to do one thing: Take you from where you are now, to a better place. ie, if you're life ****ing sucks, then ending it would probably make you happier, since you aren't happy at all. For them, they get a little closer to Allah/God. Which makes em happy.

I think that some suicide bombers believe that they will reach heaven for killing their enemies immediately upon belief, which is most of the reason they want to die. I suppose it is technically "suicidal" but not in the popular definition.

I don't know. If someone is suicidal they mean to commit suicide, which is the taking of ones own life, period. But like Erestheux said, the popular definition doesn't really fit here since these people don't have many of the traits a stereotypical suicidal person does.

Suicidal yes, because what does a suicide want from death other than a release from pain and hopefully passage into a better/easier state? Maybe just to hurt others with their death (a thing I despise more than any other motive ever), but again, fits into the suicide theory.

Suicidal. In part from the Religious Sandbagging and Fanaticism you can't convince a Middle-Eastern or Western man to commit suicide without reason. Suicide is not the Emo-Brag-Brag art its cut out to be -- our own system turns and twists at the thought of an early death.

Things take reason, and before we step on the toes of Atheists lets realize now that most Religions look down on personal sacrifice, period. The deal is sweatened through Propaganda, and reinforcing the dillusions of men lost in their own life to take others down through planned death and destruction. These suicide bombers are slitting their wrists in many ways, but are convincing themselves their lifes and personal bothers were'nt pointless through murder.

They make artificial purpose's and sacrifices -- for that, any God curses.

But not in the sense that Europeans or Americans see suicide.. it's more of a "i'm going to a better place where I will recieve infinite praise from the gods". According to there social circles what they are doing is the most heroic thing you can ever accomplish.

Great thread by the way, it's nice to see some non-spam thought out threads. I voted no because I dont believe they are suicidal in the way most people who browse this forum would consider suicide.

I don't know, it doesn't sound like such a bad deal. Leave earth and enter a paradise with 70 virgins created just for you, just to pleasure you for all eternity and all sorts of exciting new things to experience. It's better than the Christian version of heaven which sounds like an eternal mass performed by odd-looking angels which is entirely sung, not spoken, and performed in Latin. An eternity of ass-kissing basically. Bring on the virgins.

The suicide bombers believe that if they kill themselves in the process of fighting for their cause then they will be the chosen ones and will live in a paradise(like heaven) for the rest of their lives. So yes, they want to kill themselves, their reason is religious but that in no way pardons the act of killing themselves.
