Are video card prices coming down on Friday with Nvidia's release?

I am itching to get my hands on an ATI 5770 but I have been holding out for the last week since I thought the new Nvidia cards were coming out today. Turned out I gotta wait till Friday. Now I'm getting more impatient.

Is it worth waiting till Friday before ordering a new card? Or will prices remain essentially the same for a while longer? An educated guess from someone that pays attention to this stuff would be appreciated.

Don't buy now or you may regret it. Prices could drop or they may not right away. But you won't know until until after the reviews show Nvidia's performance and maybe wait a week into it as their stuff pops up on retail sites.

If ATi doesn't react some what soon then they probably won't until Nvidia's stuff really comes into stock (summer?) or ATI releases faster clocked cards under new model #s.

I just don't feel like waiting much longer. I haven't been able to play Bad Company 2 at all because of my current card. So I might just buy it today, still thinking.

One of the things I was considering was that the GTX 260 would come down to around $160 or so. But I dont know if that will actually happen.

If there is a retail store that does 30 day returns even on open box stuff then you could buy and watch prices still. But then you would be paying more $$ than online.

You'd only have to wait until Monday to see if there was an instant change from ATI if you are getting that impatient. hehe

If anything, BC2 will be more fun if you wait. There's thousands and thousands of players, and by the time prices have come down, more people with a total lack of a team ethic will have given up on the game.

Well I bought it last night. Now I feel like a dumbass, might as well have bought it a week ago. Oh well.
