Yes or No?

If yes, what do you think your starting character will be? I think I will be a Dwarven Warrior or a Tauren Shaman.

WOW is simply one of the best games I have played in years. It is so addicting. Everything is fun about the game. Even the downsides like the graphics, still manage to impress me with their understated beauty. I know I am buying World of Warcraft come November 23.

Yes, if they remove the server localization crap. I'd play either a Human or NE rogue as my main, and probably a Priest as my alt. Hmmm but I'm really tempted to create a Troll rogue for PvP, the Horde seems to be much more active than the Alliance on that front.

yeah, when it comes out in 5 or so months over here :frown:

I voted yes....

But im kinda undecided right now. I love the game and its a lot of fun but i wonder if it wont get boring after awhile cause ive played most of the classes so far....well some left to play(ive only tried them out, i havent lvled them all up so far.). So far i can see the warrior becomeing boring (for me anyway) after awhile. Maybe its cause ive been playing on these PVP servers but i never have got high enough for a raid battle or anything....whihc i really want to. I started a new character, along with my lvl 10 undead warrior, whihc is a lvl 5 NE Hunter and so far its really fun. When can you tame a pet?

All in all though i think it might be a good buy but i just am hesitating because its a bigger commitment than most games. Maybe after i lvl up higher i can participate in a raid battle......

Level 10? You haven't seen the begining of things to come. I'm only a level 15 Night Elf Priest and the game is starting to drastically open up.

Raid groups are immense fun. I spent 6 hours in Raid groups last night. 2 hours in an all out defense in Astranaar, 2 hours falling back to Auberdine where we defensed and defeated the horde, and about 2 hours in a counter-Raid where we ended up in the barrens.

Exploring is very fun in this game as well. I'm the type of person who immesnly enjoyed Morrowind, so this game is defintely up my alley. Being able to just wander around and gain XP for discovering new cities is great. The first time I finally made it to Ironforge was amazing. Completely blew my senses away.

I don't mind the time sync. I'm tired of only playing a game for 20 hours then putting it on the shelf. Sad to say, but HL2 is likely going to be that type of where you play it once and put it on the shelf. I want to be addicted to computer games again and WOW is looking like to be a perfect candidate for it.

I'm also not jaded with the game. When I signed up for the open beta, I made myself promise that I would only have one character. That way when I buy the game I still have other races and professions to try out.

yeah, lvl 10 isn't really a good showcase of the game. lvl 20 is where things really start to open up. you finally become powerful enough to be able to hold your own in the big bad world, and strong enough to compete consistently in raids.

i just finished levelling my main character to lvl 26 (same as Suicide's CB char! :E ) and the game is so diverse and complex, i can only imagine how it starts to expand at levels 30 and above.

and after all this time spent levelling, i've finally made my decision about character class choice for retail. i'm going to have a Human Paladin as my main char, then a supporting Human Mage. and if i have time, an Undead Warrior (since everyone decides to be mage/warlock on the undead side). :D

No, rather play Guild Wars, hella fun n no monthly fee.

Thats certainly good to hear. Well ima go lvl up my NE Hunter as best i can for tonight. BTW how do you find raid parties? I dont see many parties let alone big raid parties.

Like Calhoun, I voted yes, but I'm undecided. I've never been a big fan of monthly fees. And while I've had fun with the beta and all, I fear that I may eventually get bored and have a waste of money on my hands.

That's why I'm praying that some of my friends pick it up as well. If they bought it and made Horde characters, I'd plunk down my cash as well.

Oh yah, I'd choose to be what I was in the beta. Troll Hunter.

Yeah, I'm probably buying it... I want to be a Tauren hunter, but I might have to be alliance....

And you don't need a huge group to have fun PvP fights. I went to Reridge today and fought a lot... the trick is just finding someone your level and that's alone for a good fight... and avoiding the excitable people that like to crowd around your corpse if you die... that doesn't really work all that well though since I can just spawn away from them and put my cheetah thing on and run away. :p

I got Everquest 2 instead. Pretty darn good so far!

You must leave the newbie area and move on to the more difficult settings. For a night elf, a good place to find a Raid group would be Auberdine or Astranaar (a higher lvl town).

I assembled a Raid party of last night that consisted of 40 people (the max amount). Too bad a good chunk of them would never listen to the leaders (like me) and would get promptly slaughtered by the horde. I think raid groups will be 1000 times more fun once people understand the concept of a Raid group.

You find a Raid group by either starting one yourself, or joining a raid group. Raid groups are usually used for really high level quests or for attacking or defending against the horde/alliance.

Im not voting because Im undecide.

I have had fun with it so far.

Got 5 different charachters. Human Rogue, Human Paladin, Dwarf Warrior, Orc Shaman, and Human Priest. (all under level 10) I want to try all the different charachters befor I decide which one I will level up first. Right now though my favorites are the rogue and shaman.

The game is really fun when I get a couple friends on my teamspeak server that I run of my computer and we just go around completing group quests and stuff. Howevor non of us are high enough level to participate in raids yet. That is when I expect the fun to really start.

I would get the game if the $15 a month wasnt holding me back.

The $15 isnt a lot of money to pay but I dont know how to pay it because I think you have to be 18 to have a credit card and unfortunatly im not.

I would have chosen to play WoW, but I bought EQ2 instead. I'm glad to say that I'm not disappointed either! :)

no, i am not buying this game... not because i don't like it.. infact it looks like tons of fun.. but simply put, i can not afford "pay to play" games.
i never have played any mmorpg...and well unless i win the lotto, i don't see myself playing one any time soon.

besides, i am spending my money on HL2, Bloodlines, X-Men Legends.. frankly i don't know how i am going to afford these especially with X-mas shopping :|

Ah, ive played a little bit more and now im lvl 8 hunter.....soon i shall have my pet... :)

well I played again tonight and I got my rogue up to level 7. Sadly I died a bunch of times because there was a huge horde party making their way through goldshire, and the farms. It took about an hour to get rid of them so I had to stay and hide.

Yeah im buying this game. It is a to good MMORPG to pass up on...nothing about it is bad except it isn't coming out here this month ;(. I've got a lvl 19 nearly 20 human paladin and the game is pretty challenging now. Im trying to do deadmines in westfall, we got all the way to Van Cleef and we all died and its about a 30 min run back but it was 3am so i had to go. Gutted. Now i got a long ass run when i log on.

YES im gonna buy it :)

its gonna be my first mmorpg

i havent bought Halflife2 yet because im playen the WoW open beta!
and ive waited for HL2 so long lol.

this game is just so much fun.
im a nightelf druid level22 :)

something different then shooters all the time
been addicted to them pretty long now to get addicted to Wow =D

im gonna buy HL2 when the open beta ends though :)
WoW doesnt come here till next year :(

Havent played it before, sounds good but I will never play pay to play games, its a bloody rip off

well, i'll definetely purchase it here in the UK, but will probably wait a while, until they iron things out a little, there are all ready a few annoying bugs (yes, i know it's a beta), but my main concern is overall balancing, economy, resources - when these things start getting sorted out and there most people on the servers know their place, i'll probably join - at the moment it's just full of people wandering around aimlessly getting slaughtered. I think i will go down the 6 month option, that the overall monthly fee will be cheaper, and if after 6 months of playing, if i'm still hooked then i'm going to be hooked for a long time, while if i don't like it, then it wasn't that much of a waste of money - though on current form - this game could take my life away. ;) Though it's a shame about localisation and different region releases - though most people i've met are european anyway, so it's not really that big an issue for me.

Believe me your missing out big time. The only reason you have to pay for MMO's is because they have to be constantly looked after and updated and new things added and all kinds of things that you'd get standard in a SP game not to mention your playing on a server with (on beta this is) upto 3000 people and at weekends i could'nt get on 2 servers i've got characters on meaning, yes, there was 3000 people each just on them 2 servers and i was about 300th place in a que.

Oh and if its any concern, i used to think the same as you...i always used to think they sounded good but never thought they could be worth £10 a month (max!) until i tried one out and have been paying every month for an MMO for the last 2 years. So i've spent like £240 on a game that lasted me 2 years...is that really a rip off? i think not anyway plus is £10 (max!) really alot of money?

Most likely will next wednesday? I'm going for Undead Warlock.

Well I could just buy a game which would be just as fun and pay a one off payment. Anyway I cant afford it :\ and I wouldnt pay that much on a game. I dont play games as much as many of the hardcore gamers in these forums

I am going to be something Dwarven.
Right now i have a 24lvl dwarven paladin.

Nah, not unless I upgrade my dialup. I'll probably play it from time to time at the internet caf though :)

I still played WoW some even when I had HL2...

But now I've finished HL2... so I guess I'll just be REplaying that until Tuesday! :p

It's gonna be nice having a character that won't be deleted...

Yes im buying it day of release, more likely pre order. Although I wont get it for awhile due to having to import.

Hmm you know that you need a US billing address if you're planning on playing on the US servers right?
