i am really glad i got it from steam coz css is amazing ! but i am kinda dissapointed that i wont get the hl2 box .

lol um no. Waste of space normally. And if it's not stored properly it just gets damaged and torn.

Gold buyers still get a box :p But I got silver any woo.

<-- Gold. So yeah, BWAHAHAHAHAH! I GET THE BOX AND YOU DON'T!!!!

..it's not that big of a deal. I wouldn't be disappointed.

yeah i agree. i am a little dissapointed at not gettingthe box art also, but i weighed the options and i couldnt wait to play css. i am thinking of buying another copy just for the box art, because i have $70 in best buy gift cards sitting around

I'm not. Besides, someone will post a sweet picture for us to print off, and you can go out and buy a blank DVD case for $2, burn it to DVD, and pop your Burned DVD of HL2 in there.

It's the whole bloody point I bought it over Steam in the first place! :p

How could you possibly be disappointed, when you knew full well in advance that you wouldn't be getting a box?

Gold = box
but
money = Gold?
so
job = money?
which leads to...
why does no one wanna hire me?

Am I disapointed I wont have to deal with ANOUTHER box littering me room? No.

edit: Fix the poll. u = you. ur = your (or you're?) r = are. kthxbai.

I really couldn't care tbh.

Ritz, please don't try to correct people's spelling and grammar. This is the internet and that is the most pointless task in the world :p

The box is just the casing, the shedding of the shell of our ever shellshedding society...

I'm not really disapointed. I'll just buy the game again when it goes platinum and starts to get cheap, like £5 :p

I got silver. I dont care about the box... But im still buying Collectors edition I think ^^

I'm totally in favour of electronic distribution, I try to do my bit for the environment so i really like the idea of it. Not that i'm saying that computer game boxes make up 90% of all human waste or anything, but every little helps etc..

So, option 2, couldnt care less about not having a box :thumbs:

Am I missing something? since when did steam:Gold include the box? I mean, I know it will include the box full of all the stuff the've got to send you (looks like a discarded shoe box), but where has it ever been stated that they will send you the actual retail box? If they're sending that out they may as well send the CD's (or DVD's preferably) in the mail as well.

Anyways, no the box doesn't matter it's only gonna end up in a land-fill in about a month anyways.

I got the gold and yes, the box is included in the gold package. I don't have a link but I'm sure someone does.

I actually like haveing the box, but was able to vote 'dont give a crap about box' thanks to this tutorial: http://www.whutdufuk.com/Default.aspx?post=632347336906207500

which has links to a site with some bad ass dvd covers.

I also have a printer that can actually print on cd/dvd's so it'll look even better than a retail box. All done by myself.

good stuff

I got silver and heres why im not bothered.

ill make my own case for it with an old games case probably halos and then slap those HL2 DVD covers on the thing.

Plus it means ill never scratch the CD's through use.... or loose my cd key.

*if you buy retail your screwed just as much if you lose your account details, plus your stuff will get scratched to hell*

I am a little dissapointed, not enough for me to go buy it retail.
I find boxes are good to have for when people come over, they go Holy Crap! You got alot of games! :p

Not at all disappointed. In fact one of the big attractions for me with the Steam purchase is that there is no associated clutter of box/cd or the requirement to have the CD in the drive to play the game (something which shits me big time)
