Well as I've said I'm VERY glad obama won:cheers::bounce::cheese:, but also as I said I'm glad that McCain had the decency not to rig the election, and also that he was accepting his defeat. anyways, please vote on the poll.

Yes, very glad Mccain, and more importantly, Palin didn't get anywhere near office. At least for the next four years. I do fear the Obama is going to be assassinated though.

This is one of the greatest moments of my life, I'm sure. I will always remember this day. I was so mentally invested in this election, and my hopes came true. I am thrilled.

I have respect for John McCain on his concession speech. I'm disappointed in his base though which booed Obama. But McCain shut them down, which is good.

If he does get assassinated I blame it on Biden for jinxing it when he stated that Obama will be tested when he becomes President.

My fear was more Palin than McCain. If anything went against him it was choosing her as a running mate. She might of pulled in the hick vote, but the thought that someone so clearly undiplomatic could ever be given the reins of power scared the bejesus out of me tbh.

Muahahaha now Obama will turn the USA into a godless commie state with no guns!!1

Maybe I'll be able to get some proper health care. I know I know... evil thought, but I'm an evil person.

I am so glad that America will now be communist. Seriously though, everyone in our common room (all watching the TV) did a black power salute when the news came in.

Now for the inevitable Tony Blair style disappointment.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NEW MOTHERLAAAAAND

FOR MOTHERAMERICA

capschaaarrrrr

I'm not going to vote until I see what Obama is capable of,

Which means I may have to bump this thread at a later date

I have never felt pride in my country or its leaders. No, that isn't quite true. After 9/11 I felt an incredible sense of unity and hope when the whole nation (and indeed the rest of the world) came together to help us heal from such a horrible event.

In this case in late 2008, the horrible event we are healing from has lasted for the last 8 years of the Bush administration. I can finally say that I am proud of our country and our leader. I could not be happier that hopefully now we can gain back much of the respect we lost as a nation and a people thanks to the past administration and it's horrendous policies and decisions.

EDIT: And where is the "F_CK YES!!!1!" option????

It was sort of a thing where i wouldn't mind Obama winning. If he won, thats cool but if McCain won, it was equally as cool.

Hopefully he can live up to all this change he promised.

Okay, it's over. Being a former Dem, I'll give him the benefit-of-the-doubt in choosing a competent staff 'n cabinet.

Bush Sr. waited about 2 years to bust his tax-promises, Clinton waited 30-days, Obama... ?

Assassinated? His ego could deflect any bullet.

He wont be assasinated, Jack Bauer will save him, we have a couple of nuclear detonations and virus outbreaks to look forward to, but Jack Bauer stops that also, oh wait acctully he might be assasinated after he leaves office, as sort of a shock opening to a season.

Obama is awesome btw

I am not american but I'm really glad. By the way, social care not = communism.

I'm very happy he won..I think the world is actually going to be ok now with a sane president. And also I couldn't imagine another 4 years of republican bs for this country, Mccain would have basically been Bush version 2.0. I actually have hope for this country's future now

Hah, well I'm sorry, but to quote Bill from L4D

Son, we just crossed the street. Let's not throw a party until we get out of the city.

I'm not that excited that he won, but I prefer him over McCain.

Alright lets start the godless orgies followed by free abortions for everyone!!!!!

now he just has to live up to all your expectations

GO GO OBAMA GOBOT!

congrats america you elected a muslim terrorist into office ..I guess it's better than an evangelical terrorist. all kidding aside congratulations are in order, you did the right thing

I'll settle for you guys just having less hysterical, less irrational times ahead. If Obama contributes to that, then even if he screws up his tax policy or whatever in the course of time, I'd still call that breaking even if not PROFIT. Just a shame the ??????? stage lasted so long.

I hate it when people say Obama is going to be assassinated. That's f*cking stupid. If Bush wasn't assassinated no one will be.

There is still too much racial hate in the U.S.

I for one welcome your new tyrannical overlord.
