I will for sure, if it comes with the package.

If it costs extra, I'll probably never get it.

There are actually someone who voted for #4...guess i've asked for it :D

I voted for 'You are a jackass for asking such a question'. Why would someone want to play Half-Life over again with some modifications when Half-Life 2 is out??

Read Neli's response and the vote: There are people who wants to play hl source first.

A refreshing of memory before starting with HL2? Plus, the improved HL1 won't be as graphic as HL2, I think they'll mostly keep their original layout. If it comes with the package it'll be a welcome warmup :).

I played through hl last weekend for the twentieth something time, but I voted #3 :upstare:

i'd rathe rdiscover the beauty of the source engine while playing hl2. then after that ill play hl source.

It seems that i am unable to edit my post, strange.

Don't just vote, write a comment too.

i'll vote "if HL comes with HL2".

I will definately play through again through HL1 source. Though it highly depends on whether i am on holiday from college or not. If i'm at college when HL2 is released then i'll just play through HL2 alone. But if i'm free to do as i please i'll be playing HL1source and HL2source! That'd be excellent.

I will play the origin Half-Life again and when Half-Life 2 is released I will lock the door into my room and there will only be me, my comp, 10litres of coce and Half-Life 2...

I dont think I could stand being away from that manipulator for so long...

HL2 all the way!

I voted 1. I mean, of course i'll mess with the source engine and stuff first, but i probably will play through HL-source before HL2. It's been awhile since the last time i played through it, so it would be a nice way to refresh my memory. BTW, though, what exactly will the source engine change in HL? just the physics, lighting, and that's just about it?

-edit- Oh, and if it does cost extra, i'll buy it, but for no more than $10.

#3

I'll try HL:S and see what changes there are, If they are good enough i'll play it first.

I'll play it after Half-Life 2, I don't think I could wait another second to play it (Half-Life 2) if I had it in my hands.

What Abom said.

After waiting this long for Half-Life 2, there's no way in heck i'd play hl1 on souce first.

I said "i will for sure", what i really meant was that i will test hl source, if it looks cool, i'll probably play it half way through till i can't wait no longer for HL2.

Hey If The original hald life is going to have the same engine, then why not. I've waited along time for this game come out. why not play the first game through again with the better engine? That way I can remeber some of the things that maybe that maybe HL2 will reffer to in the original. It's all the qestion of taste.

No. I want to get the full experience for the first with source from HL2. I'll play HL2 first, then go back and do the others.

It all depends on if HL:Source is good or not, and if it's free...I wouldn't pay for it like I would pay for CS:Source.

I'll play CS:Source right after, if not while I still am completeing HL2 Single Player.

I would probably just load HL:Source, go through the tram, into the test chamber, shoot some scientists, then go play HL2

I'm not waiting any more months for Half-Life Source to come out before playing HL2 :)

i think the source updates for the previous stuff is all going to be in one package, including CS source.

The thing is, the original HL is going to look almost exactly like it used to. They aren't updating character models, textures, weapons, etc. Last I heard valve is only putting in the new physics and some lighting and whatnot. The only way I'd play it before HL2 is if it looked and played like HL2.

I will play HL1:S if it's included, but playing the expansion packs would be too much... I hope, it will release in vacation time^^

Chances are that Half-Life: Source will only be included in the Collector's Edition (as to my approximation), unless it is made a stand-alone game or a Steam exclusive.

However, if Half-Life: Source is bundled with Half-Life 2, then I will be playing through the first one for sure. Valve is very clever and may include hidden messages or never-before-seen areas (small ones mind you) that hint towards City 17 or increase the immersion that Half-Life 2 will no doubt have.

Half-Life: Source will be a greater refresher, warm-up, whatever - and knowing how good the original was/is, I probably will play through right until the end. Only if it comes with Half-Life 2 though. I doubt i will by another copy of Half-Life (even if it is just a technical upgrade).

If its included with HL2 i'l play it after i've played HL2 SP, maybe it will update the original if its on your comp.

Yeah, if HL1:S looks and feels like HL2 then I'd play it. I hope Valve releases a complete HL1 port, even if it comes out months later.

there's no way after building a new pc and sweating the hl2 wait out for months in these forums that i'm gonna let hl1 source be my benchmark. I don't believe anyone, if they play the first 10 seconds of hl2, will be able to turn it off and play through good ol hl1 before continuing.

I'm not compleatly sure.

I'd like to play HL:S first and then HL2 to get the storyline right......But then again.....HL2 is built around the source engine, and includes alot of things you can "play with" in the game(physics), and i don't want to spoil that first play with source-engine on a game not meant for it.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see how big the changes in HL:S are, and if they are any good.

Edit: I would like to see the resonanse-cascade though... :p

If the graphics are just as good as HL2 (Complete overhaul, which I think they said isnt the case anyways) then yes, but will most likely play HL2, play HL:Source, then HL2 again.

I can't really say right now, for it all depends on how intriging the Steam edition looks when it is release. If it were to look stunning on the side of the box since I already know the story, and I would only be playing it to experience the new engine.

Yeah, I'll be playing HL2 first.
I'll play HL source and then HL2 the 2nd time around though.

I will play it if it comes with HL2 only because, I can breeze through all of HL1 in about 3 hours playing casually, I'm sure that I can wait another 3 hours to start playing HL2, except that I will be playing frantically to get thru it so I will only have to wait 2 and a half probably.
