I imagine there will be the option to pre-load it. I made the mistake of not doing that with HL2 and couldn't play it until 1am Wednesday morning. Although a lot of the files we already own through HL2. Either way, I want to play it the moment I get home from school.

Whether I preorder aftermath is dependent on whether I can use Steam at Uni. Whether I get Steam or Retail version is in turn dependent on the respective release dates of each. If Aftermath premieres on Steam more than a week before it's in UK shops, i'll get it that way.

It depends how good the EA marketing is If the retail is in a pristine DVD case with a hefty manual and the wonderful smell of a newly packed game... I might have to nip down to Virgin and reserve a copy. If they decide to give me a "quick reference card", it's Steam all the way for me.
