are you racist?

I have a extreme dislike for most of the black people at my school (It's 60% black), but it's no so much their race as the fact that the choose to act like imbeciles.

assholes are every where..black,white it doesn't matter.I have a dislike for black gangsters.I think that's about it though.

Subconsciously. However, I make a point of not letting that affect my interactions with black people whatsoever.

Personally, I blame ebonics.

I hate the mexicans at my school because they hate me for being white.

I am racist.
Because if I was hiring an employee and I had a white person, a black person, ............ and a purple person.
I am definently not hiring the purple person.

Plus we all know purple people are lazy.

Purple people are dead. That's what happens when you die.

the asians are superior even to white people...the true master race.
Didn't you know?

:p

Asians are cool. I have a bunch of asain friends.

And yeah, most of them do. I have ONE mexican friend. And the rest of them just dont like me very much.

Well.....I dunno I get along very well with people from Mexico.Maybe they don't like because thye are in some gang maybe?

Do I have preconceived notions of what different groups of people eat/do/act like? Sure.

Are they irrational and baseless? No.

Do I think they're stupid and wrong? Yes.

Do I allow them to affect my behavior? ?No.

Do they cause me to treat people unfairly? No.

I think the same apply to me.

:D

anyway,I think most people (atleast me) go trhough a phase in life where you try to blame other people or ethnic groups for your problems. But most people grow out of that.Obvioulsy members of the KKK,NPD and BNP didn't lol

I don't think I ever blamed any other group for MY problems.

But seriously? Puerto Ricans? Made of candy.

No, race is an invention by man, there's a bigger difference between individuals than there is between 'races'.

I am however, a 'culturalist', I can't stand some cultures. But in the end, the individual matters, not to what group they belong.

Agreed.

I hold the belief that the Korean race is superior, and the world shall bow down to the 3rd Empire of the Korean nation.

Oh wait....

What does being Mexican have to do with race? "Mexican" is not a race. And how do you know the Mexicans at your school hate you for being white? Maybe they hate you because you think they hate you for being white.

By the way, does this guy resemble your mental idea of what the Mexican race looks like?

Naah, he looks like a FILTHY GARLIC EATING FRENCHMAN!!

I'm not racist, I just can't stand anyone that looks different to me. People with ginger hair are the worst ;)

Anyhoo - the other day at work (internet cafe) I had to change the ink because we'd run out of yellow. This bloody awful lady, who happens to be black, started complaining because her pictures came out wrong. Fair enough.

I explained the situation, and that I need to get some more coloured ink. This is where she went mental - saying that I shouldn't call it coloured, and how all her life people had been calling her that and that I couldn't possibly understand as i'm a white guy. You conversation that ensued was probably the longest and silliest thing i've ever taken part in - 'different ink', 'non black and white ink', 'diverse ink' ...

I'm not racist, I just hate stupid people.

I have been mistreated by black people too. I have also been mistreated by whites, hispanics (of different ethnic backgrounds), Indians, Arabs, east Asians. You name it.

Not sure what you're suggesting here. The fact that the lady in question was black has little to do with it - she was a moron. If someone looks for racism they usually find it (which is a shame, there's more than enough of the real thing in this world).

I just felt that the whole situation was loosely on topic, and certainly wasn't trying to infer anything.

I added Arabs to my list, did you not notice? :) There is this Arab guy at the gas station I go to who is always an ass to me. Actually, he might not even be an Arab, perhaps he is Persian or a Kurd or something else.

The point I am trying to make is that it is easy to generalize and blame an entire race for the flaws of a few. Actually, if you think about it, not being nice to some people is not even a flaw. Sometimes you accidentally rub people the wrong way, sort of like what happened to you with the black lady and the coloured ink...You were not trying to be disrespectful but your words were interpreted as such.

I am gonna play the devil's advocate here. Are you sure you did not intone the word "coloured" in a way out of the ordinary? Depending on the way you said that word, that lady might have had reasonable evidence to think you were being disrespectful to her...

Nope, i'm pretty sure she's an idiot. Bar putting a white hood on and chasing an ink cartirdge around the shop with a few bloodhounds, I think it's quite difficult to come across as racist by saying the words 'coloured ink' :)

It depends on the way you said it, or maybe you gestured in some way, perhaps unconsciously, while you were saying "c o l o u r e d ink" and she interpreted that gesture as a sign of disrespect.
