I just wtached all 26 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion
I never saw an Anime so depressing....I cant even go to bed
Im so confused
Can somebody explain to me what that series was really about?
And I heard there 2 Movies is that true?
And when I would buy em would that Movie contain some answers ?
and also most important thats the stupidist ending of a Series ever

they essentially tell the series as "it was meant to be" - that is, it retells the story in movie form, with less elaboration and all that.

I like the series better, and nope I don't really understand most of it, other than that I know it's all a massive biblical thing.

It's the only Anime series I've watched, and it was the most confusing load of crap ever.

Because that council of guys (can't remember the name) wanted the angels to succeed. So they started the Eva series, and they sent them to fight Asuka.
They won, then they capture Shinji's eva, get the lance out of the moon, use it to start the apocalypse, everyone on earth explodes (so does Shinji, you just don't see it, you hear it) that's why at the end, Shinji wakes up to a girl (who is Rei, Asuka and Misato in one) and presumably they start the human race all over again.
