Luckily, I have Norton Internet Securty.
This one person with the IP adress 127.0.0.1 keeps trying to hack into my computer. All the attempts where blocked, but I wanna know how to end this.
Is there an internet site where I can send this infomation to and stop this?
This happened to me lke 6 times now.:(

Lol... 127.0.0.1. There's no place like HOME *wink wink ;);)*

haha

Give him a break, he didn't know :)

Anyhow, as for REAL access attempts.. I've had 23,709 access attempts since I reinstalled my firewall 2 months ago. Ranging from pings to incoming TCP connection attempts (I haven't really looked through the log, so I'm sure a good part of it is localhost type stuff).. it's nothing to worry about if you do get alot of "hits" on your firewall. Most of the time it's just internet "noise."

What's everyone talking about?
Are you saying I'm hacking into my own computer for no reason?
:O
/me dies

IP 127.0.0.1 Aka localhost is your own computer yes... Think about it :-).

Yeah, localhost is basically just calling for a loopback command to check your IP/DNS.. you, directly aren't doing it, your computer has a mind of its own :)

Omg, get out of your house now!

nw909.........howd you get all that info? I want that!!! So when someone screws with me i can do somthing to them in RL........because thats how it should be.

you can do that through mcafee firewall client. just click on 'track an attack', stick the ip in and it'll show you a nice world map as it homes in then it spits out all the information like nw909 showed above. nifty.

I downloaded a trial for a program called HotWhois

It's pretty cool.

How can Icheck out my own IP?
I used to know the adress to put on IE but i forgot it.

if you get two little computer screens in the bottom right of your screen, double click on it, then go to the next tab and find where it says 'Client Address', that's you're ip. there are probably urls and programs that do the same.

Yeah, the URL=adress. I knew one that gave me it.
But now I see it on properties of «local area connection»

Tell u what Tredoslop I'll do u a favor, u give me ur i.p Then i'll scan and hack into ur system and find out if any 1 has been in there.
Free of charge of course.

no one seems to have mentioned to tell him he should go out and buy a router hardware firewall, something like a Linksys should do. these days thats the only real true way to keep yourself protected from bored out their ass idiots who dont have a job.

Sprafa, there are a few ways to check your own IP.

1. Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig
2. (For XP) Desktop > Right click My Network Places > Properties > Double click "Local Area Connection" > Support (Tab)
3. (For Win95/98) Start > Run > winipconfig
4. www.whatismyipaddress.com (This won't reflect your proper IP if you're using a router)

thx I was doing the 2nd suggestion.
And the adress! Thx for that too! It was another one that I used, but it's lost now...
