I just found this link: http://games.intertain.dk/?news/item&ci=60&it=76939 and decided to translate it for you since it's in danish. I'll just translate the most important things in it, so here goes:

A southkorean man was in the end of december arrested after non-stop playing at a InternetCafé because his bill got too big.
He only left his chair when he absolutely had to go to the bathroom or when he got hungry for noodles.
The owner of the InternetCafé got worried when his bill reached 450.000 Won (about 375 dollars...sounds quite cheap, huh?), but the gamer refused to pay nor leave the café. The owner of the InternetCafé got so worried that he called the cops and so far they've only reported that his condition was serious and that he smelled awfully!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!! ****ing fantastic!

Jesus that's awful.
You know Everquest has split up homes and destroyed marriages? There are support groups and everything. There was this article about how addictive video gaming can be and how addicted some people have become. The symptoms/hallmarks/criteria can be extremely similar to those of genuine addictions to drugs and alcohol. Scary stuff.

I just played 2 solid hours of CoD at an Internet Cafe, and I thought I had it bad =S

In general I hate InternetCafés. I hate all the nerds in there because it's completely impossible to get one single clear shot at them because they've spend an awful lot of their time to figure out how to avoid bullets. ****ING HATE 'EM!

Have u guys heard about the people who died over there in Asia, also because they never moved out of the chairs. Thats pretty ****et up as well. The blood clutters up and clugs if you dont move around once in a while. :)

20 days without sleeping? That should be a new record. There was this TV show in Holland a few weeks ago where you could win € 500.000 for staying up the longest, one girl won because she was awake for about 70 hours, that seems ridiculously short reading this...
Well it is quite sad like El Chi said, I hope gaming will not get a worse name than it already has because of incidents like this ;(

Hehe maybe you should do the same...

I dont like internet cafes so much anymore cuz my setup at home are better with the 19" trinitron screen and better desk etc. etc. and Ive already paid for it so I dont really go there anymore. :)

Im from Denmark too =D

Internet Cafes are my last resort as the phone lines where I live can only handle dial-up =/

I've been doing it for awhile though, and I can easily 'pwn' anyone on a CoD lan :)

I used to work in InternetCafé. I always see customers like that playing games for many hours but in the end they must pay or I will give a nice call to a nice people :).

What I heard, that a yong man played UT1 for 12 hours continuasly without stoping for one minutes at an InternetCafés in NewYork, The staff who were there found em dead in his place because his eyes trund to red and his skin turnd to blue. The doctors said this was the first case in the History of mankind that a person died from Electronic BRAIN HULT. The scientist recommended for gamers not to play more than 6 hours.

If you've ever been reading what it says in the bottom of a game-manual? It says that after 1 hour of gaming you should take a 15 min break.

EDIT: Oh and I also heard about guy in Denmark, he was 45 years old something like that and he went out to buy Half-Life. When he was about to pay, the clerk said that he probably shouldn't buy this game, because it was scary and might give him a heartattack. HAhahaha

Yes, because we all do that. :| I don't, and I'm epileptic.

Well with the lack of success with Big Brother and Shattered, the gameshow with people staying awake, you can bet Channel 4/E4/Endemol will do the Play till your dead show, where the last one to die from playing video games nonestop wins a posh funeral.

Considering the other crap they have lined up this year I seriously wouldn't put it past them :)

/me sends giant, anime-style robots with flashing eyes and brilliantly lit attacks after El Chi.

Welll navy seals stay awake for a total week doing nonstop physical training, so it cant be too hard to sit on your ass for 20 days playing games lol...or for that matter breaking that girls record.

I watched a story on TV where a guy had shot himself in the head with a rifle because someone betrayed him in everquest.

Cool. Electronic Brain Halt.

I once played Monkey Island for 24 hours straight. I couldn't save my game, so I had to stay up really late to finish it.

I used to do that with old Console games, except I didn't stay up I just left the machine on ^^ Gets kind of hot after a week or so...

Here's hoping x.x

fun fact: After about three days of staying awake, the seratonin levels in your brain drop so drastically that you endure brain damage for every minute you remain awake.

oh yeah let's do that, i don't like seratonin much

yeech

Prolly a small amount of Brian Damage though. Heh. I mean Brain Damage. Brian I hope you know you spelt Brain wrong...

The farthest I've gone was 12 hours. That was at an all-night LAN party though.
Don't diss Internet cafes! If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't actually be a gamer.

Bloody hell. I can't even begin to understand the mentality behind that. But then I don't really understand the draw of Everquest. Although, maybe I do: I'm a part of this community, after all - I guess it's somehwat the same but with more orcs and beards.
Even so... Worrying stuff.

31 hours for me, sleep-over when i was about 13, but we got no sleep! Edit - Whoops forgot we were talking about game playing, not sleep deprivation

The lengths people have gone to succeed in Everquest is really quite scary....

I've gone 37 hours without sleep...and I wasn't even tired and could prolly have stayed awake for quite some time if there were a point to it....

here's sumthing in my PC Gamer i remembered.... top ten games that ur momma wouldn't like or sumthin... everquest was named #4 on the list because sum kid killed himself over it cause he couldn't beat a monster... or make it to the final level or sumthin... his mom sued sony and dubbed the game "Ever Crack"

playing games is any a point to it :D

Guys, remember that other Korean guy who apparently had a heart attack after playing CS for three straight days?
Now THAT was sad...

When I play RTS games I could go 12-15 hours straight.

Unfortunatelly ufterwards you feel like a total piece of shlt :(

It's not Brain.

Bry-aan Dam-aaaaaaaaage :p.

It's funny, i've done a lot of hard drugs in highschool (and currently in college) but I refuse to play everquest. I know what it'll do to me and i don't want to go down that path. And i'm actually entirely serious, in my life i've seen everquest mess more people up then drugs.

JUST SAY NO TO MMORPGS!
