The words uttered by an "industry insider", as posted by the team over at Computer and Video Games. There has been no official gold announcment as yet, but it appears that Half-Life 2 has been sent to PEGI and BBFC for certification.
Speaking under strict conditions of anonymity, an industry insider squealed earlier informing us that "as far as Vivendi is concerned, the game [Half-Life 2] is finished" before saying that the title had been passed to PEGI (Pan European Games Information age rating system) for classification, which in turn passed the sequel to the BBFC for certification.

So what does this mean exactly? Well, possibly not a great deal. The ESRB recently posted their rating for Half-Life 2. Yesterday Icarus chased up the Assistant Director over at the ESRB who informed us that HL2 was reviewed by them 31 days ago, with the official rating being posted up within the last week or so. The full game wasn't rated and it's entirely possible that the same thing is being done with PEGI and the BBFC. As for the comment quoted in the title of this news post - who knows? There has been a lot of information going around the internet recently and it's very difficult to know what's true and what isn't but once we get some information officially confirmed, you'll see it here.[br]

This is amazing.. I am getting home from college today. .and picking up my uber computer and getting off of this cappy laptop. I should have brought it to college to begin with.. what was i thinking.

I was SO dissapointed when I read the news content...ah well, not much longer now! ;)

Edit: IE shows boxes because it doesn't allow the font character for some reason. Just another reason to ditch the damn thing...

Cool about that gold skin. So when IT goes gold it isn't really necessary to post that on the front page. At least I don't need to read that post, just when the gold is shining from the screen I know what that means.

is it just me, or has halflife 2 a million things to go through before we get to play it than any ordinary game?
 
I think not, but nobody cares about those things with other games :p

Ill be worshiping the titans as there basicly the gods of gods.

So this is basicly the gold in progress stage. Sort of a yellow or maybe silver. In other words its done, its technically gold it just needs some checks.
 
im sorry but this is as unfounded as me saying "my local EB said it would be released in Summer 2004" yes how fecking great :(
