Ascent87.Net R2 ?

This was going to be the second rendition of my site, Ascent87.net. Ascent87.net is currently down because I haven't renewed my domain name service and subscription yet (lack of money after I bought my Radeon 9800).

So here's what I had so far, so tell me what y'all think.

By the way... anybody rips this (and believe me, I will find out if someone does), you're goin' down bigtime. Not a threat or anything... oh, wait; yes it is!

It could be just the jpg compression or something, but everything seems really washed out. Other than that it looks really good. If that is how it is supposed to look like, I think using darker tones of what you have now would look better to give it more contrast. It all kinda blends together now. Your content delivery seems to be setup very nicely, along with your links and sub-content. My only gripe would be it seems like something should go at the very top, almost like something is missing. A title bar of somesort, or something. Very nice overall though.

edit: I'm assuming this is going to be a flash site? or flash hybrid? out of curiosity, what version do you prefer?

Thanks. I'm most likely not going to use much Flash, if any at all. I like Flash 5 MX the best right now, only 'cause I haven't tried Flash 6 yet . Hehe.

Are those up arrows for the content boxes going to be done in java then or what? And, as of now I use FMX. I don't see the need to 'upgrade' to F6 yet.

The ^ arrows wouldn't do anything actually... unless I had the surrounding content boxes coded into frames (one for each content box), then they would go to the top of the page, with a link sending it to "#" in the HREF HTML tag.

Great site. The colours work very well and overall smooth site. You stayed away from the trends, so great job.

Generally it looks rather good, far from an original piece but looks quite nice regardless. My only problem is that it's a little too repetitive/cluttered for my liking.

Yes, it does look incredibly water washed, I figured you've done that to stop possible thieves from ripping the design - I hope it has a much more opaque body in the web version.

ok reason:
First of all, it's all been seen before...not necessarily a bad thing... but it's not really original...but what is?
Specie up the colors man! ... that is the only way you can get your esign to be different!...make it wiild

dont re-use the bottom and top for every single table... it get inovating to look at...

i like the left part, but again the colors are just too clean and boring.

cant rally see what the text says... it's too close a color to the background.

oh and that comment about ripping jus tpisses me off.
why judge on forehand... you will have plenty of time to do it, if you ever find someone who ripped it(which i doubt you will)

That looks really nice, but like someone said before it looks a little washed-out. It would look better a bit darker.

Heh, thanks for all the comments guys. And the washed-out colors thing... I'll watch that when I start recoloring, so thanks for tellin' me .

Oh, and x84, your layouts not that bad. I especially like that stock photo on the splash page. Nice color choices too.
