Ass Creed rapes history some more

In Assassin's Creed, the Templars aren't just big guys with swords, that's just what they happened to have looked like at one period of time. They're basically just an evil organisation, so they could look like anything really.

Apparently Ezio is in his 50's in this game. That's getting on in years even by our modern standards. How many 50 year olds do you see vaulting rooftops?

How are they going to pull this off? 50 is OLD in that day and age, and they were commenting on Ezio's age in the last game. I know he's really fit and all that, but still.

Will he run slower, die quicker, and recover slower? That could lead to some challenging mechanics if done well (or frustrating if done poorly).

Maybe it has something to do with the Apple. One of the bits about the Garden of Eden was that man did not age. Now, Ezio is obviously aging but maybe his proximity with the apple gave him some longevity.

People in the past didn't age faster than us, they just tended to die sooner, and average mortality ages are skewed by the high proportion of children who died before reaching maturity. Not saying it makes much sense for a 50 year old man to be leaping across entire streets even now, but there's probably no less a chance of it earlie moderne tymes.

at least it surely means this has to be the last ezio game, right? Right? =/

Heh, it's not like AC ever cared about the probability of regular city guards being trained in free running.
