I watched the trailer for this on Azureus Vuze & got the impression that it was like the games in the Thief series, only so much cooler looking & on a nice new engine.

Hurry up 2008!

Well at least I can still get it on 360. Sucks though, because aside from the Orange Box, my PC isn't going to get much playtime out of me for the next four months.

What the FACK!

Anyway, most likely it will pull a 'Gears of War' and have other content to be worth that extra timeline.

well its Ubisoft, so the PC version gonna suck..big time

I get the feeling that despite the freedom offered to the player, this game will be far more linear than people are making it out to be. Despite there being a full city to explore, it seems like you're on a set path with clear objectives throughout, and you're not given the opportunity to really explore and do what you want in a sandbox-like way. I could be wrong, but all the demos shown so far are just "you need to kill this guy, so do it". Thief: Deadly Shadows was awesome just because you could wander around the city looting, pillaging, and murdering people at your leisure. That is exactly what Assassin's Creed needs to do, but I don't see any evidence that it actually does.
I get that feeling too, but I think the demos are all clear-cut objective-based in order to show as much of the game's mechanics in as little time as possible. They have said that exploration is a huge part of Assassin's Creed, but you have to admit that a demo involving a story mission is more immediately eye-catching (though not necessarily better) than a demo of you climbing up a bunch of buildings :P

same here, I'm upgrading Jan/08....That means I have to play Crysis twice, first round on my current system, and second round on next Gen System. :D

Games like these, and MGS etc, are only really worth playing on a console. Just feels right when using a gamepad.

Noes delayed D: I'm actually looking forward to this game, something I rarely remember to do these days.

I was just thinking how incredible it would be if the next Thief game used this engine! Suddenly just walking around the streets feels seriously limiting.

That said, I am sure that this game will be much more about exploration and finding your own path even if the objective is the same: to kill this or that guy. There is so much more to it than that. They have said that you can take a break during your main quest to visit the other cities and get involved with all sort of other quests and adventure and interactions, so I am not worried about it being too linear at all. People have said Oblivion was too linear, but 200 hours into it and barely touching the main quest, I can safely say that is not entirely accurate. :E
