Neighbours is f*cking amazing. I admit it's kinda hammy, but in a good way. Really really good. Maybe it's specifically more of a student thing.
 
The actors in neighbors go to an acting school, where they have an operation to replace their brain with lard.

Hollyoaks I occasionally watch if I can't be bothered to get up after The Simpsons, but I could never watch it on my own. That's far too shameful.
Never seen Desperate Housewives - haven't got E4 in my house.
