athlon 64 "preview"

i was wondering if anybody saw the athlon 64 "preview" from anandtech that they posted a few days back.

they took a opteron clocked at 2.0 ghz and ran some bench marks. Gaming seemed to be the big winner for it to. about 40-50% faster than a pentium 4 in dx9. still, we have to wait and see what the real benchmarks will say.

Well if you can plow down the money for one of their opterons you can buy a athlon 64

That is pretty cool shit. I am not a big fan of useing 3dmark to benchmark cpu's seeing as how it is primarally a vga benchmark, but it does hold some importance. almost 600 fps in quake 3 is still cool.
