i bought this cpu https://www.futurepowerpc.com/scripts/details.asp?PRDCODE=CPAM-R643500BI it says ada3500bibox, meaning retail winchester core,

so i bought this when it came it came in a retail box, but the MF number on the cpu says this. ada3500dik4bi, get what ims aying so i check on NEWEGG it shows the BIBOX as retail but the dik4bi as OEM, so did this site put a OEM CPU in a retail box and pretend its a retail, plus why dont the MF numbers match as indicated on teh site and on the cpu itself? help

did it come in a retail box? did the box say 3500? does cpuz say its a 3500? then yes, you have made a useless thread.

mind u, ur using one serial number on a different site. dear god

what? yes it reatail but i havent put it in, it came in a box but the Manufac # is different on the cpu than it is on their website.

Well, install it and see if it is a 3500+. And if it ain't return it. Should be as simple as that I suppose. Plus, what difference does it make if it is OEM or Retail. I mean, as long as you got a Heatsink\Fan then it's the equevilant of a retail. Just install it.

OEM cpus don't come with the box or a heatsink and fan. If you say you got an OEM with a box and heatsink\fan, then there is no difference. Don't be worried about a couple of little numbers on the CPU itself.

im thinking there is a diff between both winchestesters, or else why would it have diff models? the site isays its BIBOX but the product has a diff man number

anyway tomorrow im goona get on phone with AMD and ask why it says this and that, and if they say there is a diff, time to get the BBB on the line and sue these asswhipe asian online companies for false advertising

Just put it in and see, stop all this messing about with model numbers. If you find that you have been sold something different, get it changed, that isn't your fault, its NEWEGG's or who ever you bought from. When you do put it in, run CPU-Z and it will tell you the CPU number and core, so you can see if it really is a 3500+ winchester.

the model number on the chip and on the iste are going to be completely different, the onee on the site is a REFERENCE MODEL. just put it in, and then yell at them if they fudged up

That's the dumbest thing I've heard yet. Only AMD seals the boxes. Why would they go through all that trouble for like an extra ten bucks?

Morons shouldn't be allowed near computer equipment.
