ati 9600?

a friend of mine is kinda on a budget and was wondering if the ati 9600 and the 9800 have a big defference because they do in price but do they in performance?

9600, or 9600 pro?

I'd say there's about a 20FPS difference between a 9600 and a 9800 Pro
about a 15-20 FPS difference between a 9600 Pro and a 9800 Pro

Yes, there is a gigantic difference between the 9600 and 9800 series of cards. There is also a pretty big difference between the Pro and Non-Pro version of each card.

I have a 9600 XT I recomend that card to anyone. Unless your rich and you can aford a x800..

The 9600 XT is also pretty good - should give you reasonable framerates with many modern high-end games (e.g: Far cry).

Between a 9800se and 9600XT, I suggest buying the 9600XT

Between a 9600XT and 9800, go for the 9800

Between a 9800pro and 9800, go for the 9800 pro obviously

the 9800XT might be slightly more expensive than the 9800pro - but it's worth it if you can afford!
