I have the newest ATi Catalyst drivers and newest Multimedia Center. I tried to record my first VHS tonight, only to realize after a while that the Macrovision protection wouldn't let me record, and just watching it wouldn't work because it would just play a few frames then repeat them over and over, though the audio was good.
I tried 3 hacks from digitalfaq.com, as well as the feature included in the newest ATi Tool, but they didn't work.
And there was a method that I didn't try and could work, but it involves involing very old drivers, 2.8 or something and I don't want to do that. Does anybody know of a way to fix this without having to revert to old drivers (though if they're not too too old I might be willing so all suggestions welcome).
And I'm not going to buy hardware to fix it that's ridiculous in my opinion. And this is not illegal I own the tapes and can do this I've researched a bit that while googling, so no need to close the thread mods.
