This is a crazy deal , after paying $560 for a videocard you would think everything would be taken care of and that they would at least pay for that, but no theres more, you have to pay a additional 10-15$ just for that.. Not trying to flame ATI or anyone but thats just crazy or at least I think so. With that kind of money id rather get a AMD64 :p

What I'd lke to know is.. I plan on buying a new pc shortly before HL2 come's out. The XT was in the options list for graphics cards from the place where I was going to buy. Would you still get a voucher in that case? If not, why?

Things that make you go hmmm.

no, it's not for OEM products, it's only for retail boxed video cards.

OEM cards are used by OEM's (dell, gateway, hp, etc..etc..) so no, unless you build it yourself and buy a retail card, you won't get the bundle.

This offer does not apply to bulk OEM (White box) versions of the foregoing products and does not apply to any other ATI products or partner products.

quote from the page i pasted in my reply.

Well at least people are going to get a real copy of it, not the "paper sleeve edition" (like with all other combo packs).

Xtasy is right BUT depending on who you buy from they may have OEM and RETAIL versions of hardware. You may want to check. AND GET IT IN WRITING.

True, true... seems nowadays almost everything has to be either one of two things...
  1. Item has to be set in stone...
  2. OR written down somewhere in a lawyer's contract (or something similar) >__<
    [/list=1]

I wonder if the coupon clearly indicates wether or not the free HL 2 is SP only or SP/MP/Mod ver ?

I can imagine some sucker getting the card and game only to find its limited to SP only and the sucker will have to buy the HL 2 SP/MP/Mod ver :p

Well, it does say "Valve's full version game".. Maybe that means the sp/mp one?

Most likely.

But it is also possible that disclaimer merely indicates its not a demo version of HL 2 - demo's are usually packaged with video/sound cards.

Could just choose to use the voucher with Steam and download HL2, no S+H charges.
If it is the single player only version than MP shouldnt be that much on steam. If SP+MP on steam is reduced from no publisher than just a MP upgrade would be even less via Steam...
