Half Life 2 is getting very close now!

So what drivers are best for the source engine? ATI just released a new one. Can Omega and DNA drivers beat the original Catalyst drivers? Anyone know any good driver bench?

Where can I get the 4.12 beta drivers!!???

EDIT: nevermind, found it. Downloading them now. :)
 
Anyone know anything about the Omega drivers? They normally perform very well compared with the catalysts.

Im pretty sure that you can find the beta drivers at www.ati.com
 
WAIT WAIT WAIT!! When I install the 4.12 beta, it says something about Microsoft strongly suggests to stop installing these drivers..I have an ATI 9800 Pro 128 mbs. Wtf is going on? Should I install them anyway?

It's nothing...it happens to all the drivers..

I hope omega his version out fast, the regular ati drivers dont work on lap tops : (

The Omega drivers are usually tweaked/optomized drivers over the offical ones released by ATI.
 
omega drivers bring better picture quality or better perfomance.
 
So to sum up, what are the best drivers to use? Sorry if im being dense. How come the 4.12 betas are so good?

They usually give 10 fps more..
 
wow, just realised why I was being dense.

I have 4.9 drivers.
4.9 > 4.12.
So, 4.9 drivers are newer than 4.12.
WRONG!

Damn maths! I knew it would mess with my head eventually.

The best driver for an FX 5200 is the one that burns your card and force you to get a new one!
 
Hmm will the 4.12 beta driver work with my All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro?

I was hoping that was the answer :) But I have to get the new card before I kill this one, there might be a week in there that i dont have a video card at all, that wouldnt be cool.
 
It's annoying when everyone keeps saying 4.12s increase fps, when they don't on my pc. Bah I say!

what spec. do you have?
 
Cause theres there All In Wonder Series then theres the Radeon series I think.
 
i got a 9600xt and the 4.12 beta sux bigtime,..i get horrible fps while playing cs source i currentley got 4.11 :) ..there not much difference.

my specs:-
P4 2.8ghz
1gb ram
radeon 9600xt 256mb.
 
My 9600XT gives me horrible texture corruption with any newer drivers than cat 4.9, dunno why.
