ATI Released CATALYST 4.1

What ever happened to 3.9 and the overheating problems? Were they for real. I didnt upgrade because I didn't want to chance the heat and my system already ran fine.

Nice, maby these drivers will make my 9800xt run even more insanley fast :)

I don't think I'll install these untill the Farcry beta ends.

Not many fixes, but this one;
"Display corruption is no longer seen when running the applications 3DSMax or Inventor "
I have REALLY longed for :)

Btw, nw909, isnt the point with beta testing to test everything? Its quite good to know if it still works with newer drivers. If it dont, then its a problem.

That's not the point for the beta test, atleast not right now.

Yeah, yeah. Just got my brand new Radeon 9800 Pro, installed 4.1 drivers and it runs fine, yeah BUT...

Whenever I start Soldier Of Fortune 2 it darkens the screen lots and makes the game all red-like. It's damn annoying since you can't see a thing in dark areas due this 'darkness'. The brightness is set highest in game options but it doesn't help the case.

Any ideas?

In the ATI control panel check the brightness under the colors tab...

It doesn't help, only makes desktop overly bright. This problem appears in Warcraft 3 also. What the hell is wrong with this card?

Someone else had a similar problem... I would uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Best bet. I would also re-download, just to make sure, always best to get it all done in only a couple restarts ;)

I'm running Win 98 SE if that could make any difference.

Right, I re-downloaded the drivers. Uninstalled the catalyst drivers, restarted the pc, installed the newest 4.1 drivers, restarted and now it still keeps doing it.

I just don't get what's wrong...
Maybe I should contact the whiz who build this pc or somebody at ATI.

Yea 98 SE does have a lot of problems all over the place. Not nearly as bad as 95 was though ::shudders:: it could just be a compadibility issue.

On a semi-related note, isn't microsoft going to stop supporting 98 at the end of the year?

Right, that's the problem then I think. I must get XP then....just when I got everything in order. Luckily XP has drivers almost to anything.

You could probably pick up a copy of 2000 Pro for a hundred bucks cheeper. It's effectively the same design on the back end, only it's not such a ram hog. If the hundred is no big deal though, then XP is probably the best choice. Now XP pro is real nice, but it's like 200 more then XP home.

Cough* OEM *Cough

Thx for the update for 4.1 drivers.
