For the past couple of months, I've been getting hits headed to Google whenever my internet browser is open, regardless of what I'm looking at. I could have about:blank open, and it does it. They are about once a second, and never stop. I have no Google software installed on my computer or browser. It's happening right now, for instance.

If I close my browser, sometimes I get about one hundred hits in less than a minute. They are coming from my computer and using http to Google. I want it to ****ing **** off.

I have no idea what is to blame, so I'm not sure why I even posted this. I guess what I want to know is if anyone else is experiencing this lately. That is if you even monitor connections.

EDIT: actually, no. I do have an idea what it is. It's one of these ****ing extensions. There's no other possible explanation. I guess I'll have to disable them one at a time and test it.

Sounds like some kind of virus (probably spyware) to me.

hit: a connection, or in this case, a connection attempt.

I guess. I better word didn't come to mind.

when you click on a hotlink, that's called a hit.

By the way, I disabled half my extensions and I still have the problem. I should disable them all and see if it still does it, then I'll be able to eliminate the possibility.

You're not using Tor are you? Maybe you're set up as a gateway or something.
