I have exhausted myself trying to figure this out. I have an intergrated sound card and about 6 inputs on the back of my PC. When I plug into 1 of them, i get sound but with a high pitch humming noise in the background, and if i turn my sound all the way up, its unbearably loud.....If I put it into another input, It fices that problem but I cant get audio from internet sites, but its fine in games and iTunes......I DONT GET IT. Anyone have a clue?

I tried putting a soundcard from my last computer but it didnt do anything.

THanks

Do you know what each port is for? Sounds like you are just trying ports. If you get sound from games and itunes but not flash/video from the net (maybe windows sounds too?) then that could be the center or rear channel you are plugged into? I'm guessing really.

Anyway, only thing I can think of is updating sound drivers or changing the output setting. Or buying a sound card since onboard sound can get interference from being 'onboard' with all the other electronics.

If the problem is still there with an external soundcard, it's most likely your drivers or the jack cable.

Put it in the green one. The green one is the front channel 95% of the time.

i tried all of them or else i wouldnt waste your time

Ok, fixed my problem, turns out i had to disable my onboard sound through bios.

Thanks for the help
