I don't know if this has been said in the past, but to my knowledge it has not been talked about recently...

In the E3 videos, occationally a little box appears over the Health and HEV suit numbers. It can be seen quite often in the scene with the crane where the combine solider is shot off the top with the RPG. During the initial skirmish at the base of the 'dock' it appears no less then 3 times. Does anyone have any idea of what it is?

I am pretty sure it says AUX Power, (Auxiliary Power) and it seems in time of action (weapon changing, injury taken) that it occurs.
When it does appear, it does so at the 80% filled mark (more of the line graph boxes are coloured) and then quickly fills to 100% before disappearing.

Does anyone have any idea as to what this is? I have never read any discussion on it.

I can provide a screen shot if need be....as long as someone tells me how to do it! :)

EDIT: I just rewatched the section...when Gordan quickly flips through the weapon list the AUX Power seems to drop quickly, having secleted one it quickly goes back up. Could this be to minimise fast weapon swapping? Between big weapons and then back to close range for example?
It also drops a bit when he is hit by the leaping ant lion thingy

Auxilliary power = sprinting.

So its already been looked at eh? Can't say I ever saw it mentioned. Well I guess that solves that mystery, thanks

Yes, we have came to the conclusion that it made you run for a couple of seconds, kind like nitro on cars.

Well I rewatched the video and I think your correct. Everytime it appears Gordan seems to move that bit faster.

It's not to do with running I don't think. I'm pretty sure it's to do with the laser gun from the first one, that's on the buggy in HL2.

Believe us, it's sprinting :) We've debated this a number of times.

It's sprinting at the very least. Note that it doesn't actually seem to say "Sprint", specifically... I think it's used for sprinting, but also for other things (Long Jump?)...

It's sprinting... AND it powers your flashlight. And maybe other stuff too.

You know that car that goes boom at the end of Traptown? What brand of exhaust system did it have? I think it may be important to the plot of HL2. Theories?

None, but I thought it was a good a question as wether Auxiliary power makes you run faster or powers your flashlight.

auxiliary power means supplementary power, so it could be used from the suit to power anything - sprinting, flashlight, recharge condoms,e.t.c .... emm stuff like that.:)

the AUX power is also used to give a speed boost to the buggy. like a nitro boost.

How in the world could you know that?
Intresting, how they seem to intergrate the HEV suit into different tools..?

This has indeed been discussed many times before. We know it powers the sprinting, and possibly the flashlight. Anything else is either a rumour, or leak information, which isn't allowed.

Anyway, I'm going to have to close.
