I didn't want to PM Munro, he tends to be busy, so I was wondering if a Mod could help.

Is there some way we could have a poll, or something, to get the pixels of Avatars from 50x50 to 100x100? I don't want to make a poll for it to not matter.

Have to agree with Pendragon, atleast partially. The current avatar dimensions fit nicely with the name bar, so while I don't disagree it'd be best to alter both, which would be a pain. I'm happy with the current dimensions though.

I agree, the dimensions are nice and uniformed, but seeing having the pic bigger would be nice. I don't know, just thought it would be cool. If they had to and wanted to, they could put the signatures next to the names, so that there wasn't this gaping, empyt space.

We've been fine with this size avatar for some time now. I see no reason to change it.

I can see why 50x50 is considered "small" and I suppose having it a bit bigger, like 60x60 wouldn't affect the name bar. I'll mention it to Munro but I'm not sure if he'll approve.

100x100 pixels is crazy, because it would mean having to up the allowed avatar filesize - pages would take far longer to load.

60x60, why bother? What are you going to do with those extra few pixels that you can't with 50x50?

I don't know if this is possible but maybe you could have the avatar as a link. The avatar could be like a thumbnail and link to the full size picture as somesort of attachment in the users profile.

You could get the best of both worlds.

i say 120 x 120 pix are good... i used to have that size on ZE before i got banned by 2gayed admins (bro and sister) who where never fit for the possition in the 1st place some of the outher mods cooda uped to admin and then members to mods but the world blows cock dousent it?... i say 120x120 with sizeless sigs aslong as its not so !@#$in huge

Look at the pic in my profile. That's 98x98, seeing 15 of them on each page is way OTT.

Edit: Increasing the length to 100 is an awesome, awesome idea too.
Height is the only major issue.

i hate it when the slow ppl lag the rest of the world down if your running your res at 800x600 your a totall idiout and if your still running a 14.8k-56k your an even bigger idiout... cable and higher is required for life thees days get a flat screen and good card then shove it up to 1024 or 2048!!!!! chris_D that 100x100 icon is small as hell... 120 120 is good for avaters... and a inf sig limit (keep it resonable size) is good for siggys...

Not everybody has the money to pay for cable internet or buy a new monitor. $300 WTF. Last time I checked that was a lot of money. Seriously you need to grow up, I don't know anybody who can piss away $300 on a whim. When I upgrade my computer, I usually think long and hard to see if I can afford and am willing to spend the money. You need to get a life or something because your view of reality is just flat out distorted.

Plus, even if you have job, its not like that job is just meant for computer gaming. A lot of us have other obligations in life, computer gaming is just a hobby. Just because you happen to some expensive piece of equipment does not entitle you to force everybody on it. Hell, if your so arrogant, why don't you find another forum to go to and make everybody happy.

Do you have real life expenses? Hell, I have to save up $200 right now so I can replace the starter in my car. So you expect me to let my car die in the next couple of months just so I can make you happy?

Its not exactly my fault that highspeed internet providers are too lazy to get off their fat asses and hook my rural area up to cable. I have the money, need, and desire for highspeed but unfortuantly I am unable to get it.

If somebody would like to post a poll asking the question of increasing the avatar sizes we may at least consider it, but I feel like most people are happy with the avatars the way they are.

For now, this "round-in-circles" conversation is over.
