haha! you thought i averaged all the scores out for you and had the result here...

actually, won't someone average all the scores for me? i searched like a week ago for 'reviews' or this or that (simple search, i only spent like a minute on it) and gave up since there were so many results...

i've been looking at gamereviews/gametab.com lately since they're good sites that average the ratings various magazines/gaming sites give games, and since i know hl2 has like 5-10 scores already, why doesn't someone grab them all off hl2.net and average 'em out? gamerankings.com only has 2 scores up...

yep, so...get to work!

Oh BS, Halo beat HL...Yeah right.

Uh, consider:

-Only by 1%...
-This is in 2001 vs in 1998, which means there were a lot more magazines/sites reviewing games (which in this case prob upped the score a little)
-Halo was like the only game for the XBOX, so it wasn't up against much. Hell, it's STILL only one of a few games that make the system worth it...

anyway, thanks 'the thing' !

Personally I enjoyed Halo more than HL.

Me too. I'll be enjoying Halo 2 on the 9th also. It's going to be nice, get halo 2 on the 9th and then the next Tuesday I'll get HL2. Can't beat that

damn straight

Halo was indeed alot more enjoyable than HL.

Why, oh why, are there only six reviews in the "In the press".

Just rttpae, you ponc. As they say in Romania, "tslai, omg".

Seeing the reviews again makes me feel happier- been a while since I've felt anything quite so fanboyish :D

Halo is Half-Life's junior by a couple of years, makes a world of difference. Mind you, as much as I liked Halo's atmosphere and ambience I just don't think- what with its repetetive design which really detracted from its innovations- it changed the gaming scene on the same scale that HL did.

Hm, i didnt like Halo at all...
I found it boring...

yeah, it was all very 'samey' the whole way through

gtfo = go the fudge off

And I liked Half-Life alot more than Halo

While Halo was fun, it really didn't bring anything new to the FPS world. Thats my opinion

Absolutely right. Boring, dissapointing second half. Same stuff almost all the way.

HL was much more original, intellectually challenging and fun to play.

uh a question whats halo multiplayer ? ... oops
hl1 beats all ... but hl2
as halo2 will be owned ... by hl2
coz halo 2 is ... only known mods ... like ctf DM TDM etc
and hl2 is ... thousands of modifications ... + CSS + DOD + HL:S...
enough said ... hl2>>>halo2 :D

Not only that it was couple of years before, and in my opinion much more enjoyable.

Why does everyone like Halo? It's not innovative at all; its a cliche FPS with features that have been around on the PC for ages. It's a simple newb game made for simple newb xbox gamers.

I enjoyed Half-Life more than Halo which wasn't bad and at times quite fun but still, Halo had it's moments when I wanted to give up because of it's boredom and repetetivness. Many of the things and tricks in Halo were not so intelligently implemented (->weaker storytelling). The Flood made me laugh, not being scared (if that was that purpose). Halo might be more fun, but is far less atmospherical than Half-Life.

Playing Halo feels like rave party shoot out.

To be honest I might not have liked Halo as much as HL if I had played it alone, I think the reason I had more fun with Halo than HL was because I played through it in co-op mode with a mate. It was still an excellent game though.

i have to agree that is pretty fun to do co-op

Halo was great fun on co-op, but I just got bored playing it through on my own. Halo's just gathering dust for me now..

But HL... I play through either HL or OP4 every few months :D

I like halo and half-life both equally. They were both great games for their time. But some people just can't accept the fact that two games can be liked at the same time....pity.

I like halo and half-life both equally
You SURE ONLY DID Single Player.
ROFL :D
