AVGN - "Plumbers don't wear ties"

I'm not sure what irritates me more, how awful that game is or what an obnoxious tool the reviewer is.

How do you not know about the Angry Video Game Nerd?? I think he's hilarious! Watch his CD-I reviews and anything else on Gametrailers.com. Classic stuff.

I'm hoping that I wasn't the only one...but I think that girl was pretty hot.

Oh look, the Daxflame argument. Just because someone is pretending to be an obnoxious tool rather than actually being an obnoxious tool doesn't mean I think any better of them.

Dude he's acting to add comedic value to his show... You hate all actors? How do you even watch TV? He's just like that to be funny, not to impress people.

I don't watch TV usually, just the few good TV shows. And obviously I don't find him funny or I would not think he was an obnoxious tool. If his jokes were funny or his presentation was amusing rather than strained and unnatural, I would feel differently. As it is I don't really laugh at someone saying "THERE'S ONLY ONE CONTROLLER PORT!!!! YOU HAVE TO DAISY CHAIN THE OTHER CONTROLLERS BY PLUGGING THEM INTO EACH OTHER!!!!! HYUCK HYUCK HYUCK WHAT THE **** IS THAT LOL LOL LOL"
 
I can understand why you don't think he's funny, but an obnoxious tool?

His whole act is based off people getting pissed at games. You're telling me you never screamed something like "F*CK THIS STUPID F*CKING GAME! F*CK IT." He just adds a weird insults to the mix, for example "WHAT A SHITLOAD OF F*CK".
 
It has taken me awhile to like him. But now that I do, he's great.

I think my problem with this guy is that he doesn't actually sound angry to me. So it's not so funny.
 
Well it was kinda enlightening to see a game that bad but I agree that AVGN is just not funny.

I always thought both were funny, but the last ZP was shit, I'm beginning to agree with people saying he just hates on games because it's his job.

He's even stolen some of his review quotes. He actually said "Shit load of ****" once. I was amazed.

@ Ennui: How is he a tool? OK, I understand how you can think he's obnoxious, but the word tool is thrown around so much these days. It should replace the definition of "Person I dislike". If he was promoting something specific or what not, I'd understand the way of calling him a 'tool'. But I guess that word has lost all meaning these days, much like "Fag".
 
If anybody read PC Gamer in the UK many years back, this game was infamous within its pages as being the game that received the lowest percentage review score. Many jokes surrounded it.

Good to know that its sins have not been forgotten.
 
I used to watch him alot since he started but his videos got more and more ridiculous as he tried to please the retarded demographic of his fans.

I like AVGN. His videos are long, usually clever and he drinks beer on air. How is that not a good thing?
