I am getting this game off someone, I was just wondering, what is it like?

Has three seperate campaigns, alien/marine/predator. Whilst they're all worth playing just to see how they weave together even, its the marine campaign thats the best. It might not get to you, but it scared the shit out of me consistently. I played this after doom 3 and theres no competition, the level design and atmosphere is amazing.

Make sure you download this, which will hugely improve the graphics, physics sounds etc and only adds to the game.

But the game also made the worse aspects of avp, well worse. It used to be unbalanced in the favour of the predator, and now there is just no competition for him.

The multiplayer is laggy trash, STEER. CLEAR. OF. IT.

The singleplayer is exceptional.
Awesome voice acting and atmosphere.

Yes, the singleplayer is amazing.

I've never played the marine campaign further than the first level because I found it scary as hell, but the game's worth it just for the Alien campaign. It's unbelievably fun to be the stalker; to hang from the cellieng and listen to your prey discuss the trivialties of normal life, before pouncing down, screaming and tearing, ending it. The predator is also extremely fun, lots of bloodshed and skull collecting

Marine is very scary. I played the demo, I was scared shitless as aliens swarmed around me. The only down thing about the game, is that aliens follow a made path, which means, nothing as scary as it could be. I'd imagine AvP 3 with current technology could make a big hit.

Aliens was very fun

Predators were very fun. Though, what do you collect skulls for?

I think that IGN.com claimed AvP2 to be the worlds most scary game (but only when playing as Marine).

Oh, I got pretty scared when my headphones started to vibrate (I have 5.1 True Surround Sound USB Headphones with vibration). That was when I was playing alien, and I approached a really huge fan.

I dunno, the original AvP had a scarrier Marine campaign. Although being an Alien in either game was totally kick ass, and of course Predator bouncing around in the trees in a jungle, nothing quite beats that.

Marine campaign: great, terrifying, atmospheric, made me go re-watch the movie, gets really cool towards the end as well, PLAY IT!

Alien campaign: great, empowering, hilarious, fun, muhahahaha, also gets very cool towards the end and a nice ending boss. Fun boss battles with a predator as well,
PLAY IT!

Predator campaign: Amazing first two levels, with trees you can bounce on, really cool and powerful, gets very cool towards the end, PLAY IT!

So to sum up: PLAY IT!

Oh yeah: don't quicksave too much. I played the demo where there was no quicksave for the entire level, and it made it so fun that when I played the full game I only used the quicksave at very very long intervals.

Yea the first game felt more like the movies, much more scary than AvP2. AvP is one of the scariest game ive ever seen and played.

You've got my vote. The alien, with it's melee-only attacks and the wall-walk ability is like no other character I've ever played. This is the only game I play online. You will find, however, that it's unbalanced and that a couple of rookie predators getting carried away with the plasma rifle will be bothersome.

Go play Natural-Selection as a Skulk, the view doesn't turn with the wall but it makes things less confusing.

Yeah, after I got done with AvP2, I realized how fun Natural-Selection really was....

But that was a while ago..still love NS, just waiting for a new patch. Gimme Nexus.

But on topic: The game is great..the expansion for it was the most worthless trash ever though..bleh. Game keeps you on your toes..but I found the predator campaign a little boring at times...but you still can't beat the chuckle he gets when he snipes a head off...

Why don't you just play it on Hardcore, then you can't quicksave either.

Your damn right, it would become the best game ever, atleast for me.
advanced squad tactics and non scripted events for the Aliens

in a really really dark and detailed place with alot of physics aswell.

I was about to start a doom3 mod based on the Alien movies, but found out D3 isnt very mod friendly, HL2 is and it would have been great there too but then again, would Fox really let me use their Alien models and Pulse Rifles ?

So, i got this idea and im totally serious about it. Why dont we all mail them and say we want a new Alien vs Predator game. Not that it would work, but of course they would notice that some fans still wants another brilliant Alien game.
