After the "ok-ish" first movie that ruined both franchises and made Ridley Scott and Cameron to condemn the movies, the second one is coming out. They say Christmas and is now officially called AVP: Requiem. Too much CGI IMO (even the blood is CGI) and too much gore. The series was never known for the hack'em and slash'em style. Think they got a new Ripley look-a-like too.

Bloody awful films based on a ridiculous concept. I hate the fact that Hollywood greed has pissed all over ywo good concepts (although the Alien franchis was going eto have a hard time coming back from Resurrection anyway, tbh).

Besides which I really hate how the Alien is portrayed as some sort of fast, sharp, canon-fodder pack hunter while the Predator is depicted as the stronger, more dominant of the pair. I love the creature concept of the Predator, but this is nonsense - aliens are meant to be able to tear through inch-thick steel and rip human bodies apart with ease, whereas a Predator got shanked in a fistfight with Danny Glover. Besides which, the Predator's whole flashy invisibility trick is useless against a creature with no eyes, making that cool aspect of the predator a waste of time in the film until you chuck in some token humans to be diced. The novels were shitty nonsense too. Anyone who thinks the 2 concepts mix well is an idiot; the alien skull in Predator 2 was just an in-joke, I wish it could have been left at that...

/end geeky rant

wtf was that shit.

There was a shot of somebody getting decapitated or something every other second.

Looks horrible.

After the real Alien 3 that didn't get made (not to mention the rejected William Gibson script) I'm convinced that they're just trying to make as much money as they can, while consequently ramming the franchise right into the ****ing ground.

Agrees. And when it said "In space no-one can hear you scream" I was like uhhh.... Lame....

wow, sadly i think it will be more entertaining than the first, but that's not saying much at all.

We pretty much watched the entire movie in that clip. Plus, this takes place in a town, uber lame

THIS SHIT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH

Alien was the best horror franchise ever (1-3)
these ****er destroyed it.a Predator wouldn't mindlessly kill a random female human......ugh these ****er in Hollywood piss me off.

so they went like "dude the first movie sucked a lot so the next lets put more gore and hot people and soldiers and make it into a cool name, something like "requiem" but no so dumb.........ok lets keep requiem"

you would see the interviews how they will say "we keep the original feel of the firsts movies....blabla....super cgi...blabla...best movie evar...blabla"

Why can't they make an Alien vs Predator film based on the comics. They were cool. They were still in the Alien universe. A film version of that has room to be ****ing awesome.

This looks like the studio is beating the dead horse of both franchises.

Jesus, there`s no pleasing some people, just wait to see the ****ing film first eh?

:(

I wish they would leave this and just re-build the Alien franchise!

Leave AvP to games

The movies don't even follow the games or the comic.

AVP could be ridiculously cool on film. But, as usual, potential is squandered.

Everyone knows Hollywood haet comic books. And video games.

And the moviegoing public.

Why're the aliens and predators BACK on Earth again? Jesus. One of the things I don't understand is the need to always have some human interaction. Supposedly, human characters are thrown in to make the viewer care more about what's going on onscreen, so that they have someone to empathize with, but man, couldn't they have just tried to characterize the aliens and the yautja and thrown them on some jungle planet and have them fight it out? They could've even gone for the same premise as the first AvP, have a group of predators in a blooding ceremony, and focused more on them.

Or set the movie in the future. Put it on a space station or another planet and throw the colonial marines in there if you need humans. In fact, set it on Ryushi and give me Machiko. There's your human interaction AND you get some kickass aliens vs. predator action.

Man, seeing that predator impale that woman really threw the whole thing for me. Tick's right, a predator would never do that sort of thing. That was completely dishonorable, killing an unarmed, weak 'opponent' who was fleeing.

Also do I see some kind of not-Ripley/Newt thing going on there? What the Christ.

I have to admit I've lost interest in both franchises. Alien is one of the finest - shit scariest - horror movies ever made. Aliens was just a brilliant action film.

Predator was a great action/horror film, although a lot cheesier, it was still a fairly engrossing first-time-around movie. Predator 2 was really just for laughs, but I loved it. :p

This just looks bleh.

Just so you guys know, predators can kill woman but they don't kill for the exact reason dark said. :p Yea it does look like they are making a Sigourney Weaver look-a-like which is pretty lame. Also I think you were descibing Jason X lol.

Urgh, only Jason movie I've seen is...I don't even remember which one it was, it was the one where Alice Cooper sang "Man Behind the Mask" as the theme. Forget the space station anyway. Make it the planet Ryushi.

And yes, a predator would kill a woman if she was a worthy opponent.

look at that blond chick, she wasn't a worthy opponent

Let me say doesnt look that bad. Looks like a good action gore fest!

Looks like low budget filmed-in-someone's-backyard shit.

The gore is nice though.

Looks exactly how the first should have been.

Still shit however.

Looks complete shit.

Made even worse by adding the generically emo Requiem to the end.

Looks like they've turned The Preadtor into a typical monster with no motive.

Looks like a fun mindless action movie... which will still ultimately be shit.

Well a couple of the comics took place in an urban setting so I can forgive that, but yeah this will probably suck hard. Atleast it looks like the ****ing predators will kill something now. Jesus christ that was retarded in the first movie. Those 2 predators died within like the first 20 minutes of the movie. Such bullshit >_>

The story from AvP 2 (PC) was better then the story for the first AvP movie.. It's like they TRY to ruin these movies..

Yeah but the urban setting was in the future and set more in the Alien universe than modern times. If they set it in the future, it would still go with the whole timeline of the Aliens franchise. And it would be way, way cooler than modern times.

Given those 1/2 second blips with no context, I'll make no judgements about the movie until I see it. It seems comparable to the first one in terms of cheese though (note: I liked the first one).

Alien was the best horror franchise ever (1-2)

Fixed, the third movie was improbable as the Queen couldn't of laid an egg in the cryo-chamber (where they were sleeping) :p

See man, I told you. Moriarty knows what I'm talking about. Too many humans, humans that nobody cares about, too much planet Earth, not enough alien (in the sense of the word, not xenomorph) planets.

So, everyone else jazzed up to watch this trainf*ck?!

This sounds like a miscarriage that needs to be crammed right back up from whence it came.
