Sorry to be begging for help with my first post, but hopefully I'll catch the attention of someone suffering a similar fate.

My specs are an AMD Athlon 2400+, Radeon 9500 128mb and 512mb Ram. I get an average fps on HL2 of 10-20, even on the lowest settings and resolutions. My drivers are all up to date, as is Half Life thanks to the auto updating autrocity that is Steam.

Any suggestions whatsoever as to how to increase my currently game ruining FPS will be GREATLY appreciated.

Right Click on the Desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced, 3D, move the Slider to Performance click Apply, OpenGL Slider to Performance click Apply.

This will help a little.

try some of the tweaked drivers.... some people slate the Omega drivers, but they worked wonders on my 9700pro... went from slightly jittery to absolutely smooth.... 1024x768 with all the details and settings on high!

Some people don;t seem to like these / similar drivers - saying they sacrifice textures / some quality, but to be quite honest I didn't think it made THAT much difference to the quality and now it's a lot more slick!

i have a similar problem. i tried moving the slides to performance. i'll see how it goes. thanks.
