O.K. Halflife2.net - help me a little here. I was recently out-numbered in a discussion about the BttF sequels.

Folks I've discussed this with always say that number 2 is not only their favourite of the sequels, but it's the better film. I disagree - I think the third installment is better, besides the rather perplexing conclusion.

2 is not without its charms, but 3 is better gawdamit.

Obviously, no need to mention the first movie, that is immensely better than the sequels. Am I the only person that favours 3 over 2?

I like two better, the "post-apoc" future part was cool.

Both of them kind of sucked, the first one was the best by a mile...

3 I guess. I haven't seen any of them since I was 10, but the wild west one always stuck out in my mind.

Back to Future 4....FTW!!!!!

I enjoyed 2 better. I always thought it was cool to see the things going on in the background from the first. Then, going back and thinking...all that stuff from the second was also going on as I watched the first one. Oh shit, I'm cross-eyed.

It's been ages. I recall preferring two for the future when I was a kid though.

1>2>3

It's always the way.

Apart from Matrix, which was 1>2<3

Two was better, yup.

That wasn't the future you fool, that was 1985 when Biff was rich because he got the almanac in 1955.

I prefered two; the part where Doc disappears after the lightning strike, you think he's gone for good, only then a courier delivers a letter that was in storage at the local post office for about 70 years to that direct spot and that exact time, GENIUS!

I've got something for you.. *reaches into coat* ...

.. .. . .

A letter!

OK so I guess I'm the only one that liked 1&3 equally and didn't like the second one.

Probably, because putting either part 2 or part 3 on level footing with the original is plain wrong.

Like I've mentioned, I still like part 2, but I just prefer part 3 for whatever deep-seated reason I can't fathom. Part 3 has that lovely little BttF remix score for the old west that I like...

Two had the best ending though:

And why is that? Because it's a sequel it automatically means it's worse than the original?

So 1>3>2? That's how I rate them.
Yeah, but the matrix trilogy is weird in that 2 and 3 managed to take a lot away from the first one. If it had been left at 1, a lot of people would have been much happier.

I liked 2 for the flying cars and hoverboards, but I liked the 3rd the most... it's just fun bringing a modern teen to the old west.

3 was great because of ZZ top playing the part of the band at the dance!!!

The first 20 minutes of Part II was awesome. But I just thought Part III was more fun overall, especially back when I was a kid.

2 is better. little bit of trivia, when they did the flying car at the end of BttF they had no idea they were going to make a sequal. then they made a sequal around that.

I liked the feel of 3 more. The end sequence on the train was class too with the multicoloured smoke? Remember that :D
