Backing up Steam files?

Hi, first time poster.

I have to re-install Windows and I was wondering what files I need to backup to not have to download them again. Is it just the GCF files? I have the Holiday Edition of Half-Life 2 so the only things I really need to backup are the SDK and what not. I have limited bandwidth so I don't want to have to download them again.

The GCF files, yep. Config files, custom maps/models/etc can also be backed up if you want.
