Ok sorry to post questions about this again, but ive downloaded counter strike source and half life 2 source, then i simple copy all my steam apps folder into 2 dvds (i dodnt rar anything, simply copyed all source stuff into 1 dvd -4.3 gb and the rest to another dvd 2.0 gb)
Today i went to friend house nad give him the dvd he copieed only the source part (the gcfs) into his steamapps folder, but it didnt work, we go to the half life 2 and it says its in 0% when he tries to continue it say steam servers are 2 busy.
I then try to enter with my account, (wich has the silver edition) and it says the same thing when i go at half life 2.
I try to play cs source and it says the chache files are corrupted and steam needs to download them again, (this window has 2 options ok and cancel) if i clikc ok nothing happens and the same alert windows pops up again (the cache files are corrupted). I then hit the conter strike source with the right mouse button and go to propretis where i can se it has 0% and this following option: "do not automaticly update this game" if i try to change to the other option i get a error (not 100% sure its this error) "error regarding memori aderess" well im sure it gets a memory error. ( nothing happens to steam, i just cant change it to "automaticly update this game".

What have i done wrong???
PS i tried to delete cliend.blob still didnt work.
PS2- the gcfs were NOT ready only

I have no idea did you have steam up when you put the files into the steamapp file?

Steam actively uses all of the cache files while it's open. Close down Steam and then copy the cache files over. This should hopefully work then.

Close down Steam. Copy files to CD or DVD.

At friend's computer, copy them back and make sure the files are NOT set as Read Only. Then load up Steam.

That should work.
